Harley is getting so big. I thought I'd share a photo. I'm still in love with her giant ears. She's around 50# and full of piss and vinegar. She makes us laugh daily with her antics. She's was doing well with her training, but seemed to hit 6 months and decide rules don't apply to her. So we've had to step it up. She's like a teenager and pushes the boundaries. Everyone loves her. She has to be right under your feet 24/7. She loves people and interaction.

She is a beauty. We had a German Shepard once with ears that to him forever to grow into. She reminds me of him with her big, silly ears.

Do you sometimes marvel at how much better life is with her in it?
Yup, that's about the age when they start the "teenage rebellion."
I need to step up the training here as well. 3-year old Lacey isn't responding to "come" very well when I call her in from the backyard. It's more like "mmm... no thanks, mom, I think I'll just stay out here a bit longer."

I refuse to chase her.

I had a breeder once say to always treat when you call the dogs in and even if they are doing something wrong, don't scold or use the 'in trouble' voice. I've been doing this and at home it works. The puppy runs in everytime he hears me call or even open the door. Now if I could just get him to come to me at the dog park <sigh>

And I know you didn't ask, by I look at my pup everyday and know I am so grateful that he's in it! I love him to pieces!

Ahhh, I love Harley!! She is darling!!
I am laughing that she is seemingly doing the same thing as Scout. Anything he has been taught or how he seemed to be calming down has been thrown out the window. Scout and Harley are the same age and I said the exact same thing about the teenage years. Well, I have made it through 3 real teenagers, I can make it through this 4 legged period. Funny our other dogs didn't seem to do this.

But since he's an elderly gentleman now, I let him get away with pretty much anything.

She's been a total stinker today. She broke the gate leading upstairs and has been sneaking to our room and bringing me random articles of clothing and shoes.

I love how as owners we know which breed is right for us. I'm in a dog group with a lot of huskies and as much as I love them, I always think they are too much work for me!

I was in my scraproom doing something last night and Scout proudly brought in one of my DS's work shoes and plopped down on his bed. And bits and pieces of all of his stuffies that he has now dismembered and de-fluffed. He actually brought in a dead squirrel the other day. Thank goodness I was not home for that and DS took that one for the team!
