Not really something I'd say to people in person, but I love watching my sons grow and mature. My just-turned-9-yr old wanted a "Healing Hands" birthday party. (You know the Operation Christmas Child/Shoeboxes? We have an organization local to us who packages up those shoeboxes all year long- they send around 26,000 a year.) Of all the different things he could have asked for, he wanted to invite his friends to join him blessing other kids. We spent 3 hours today at his birthday party decorating and packing up boxes, writing letters to the children who will receive them, etc. The kids watched a quick video about where the boxes go (our boxes are headed to Africa) and how they get there. He loved it! Everyone had fun, actually. I'm humbled by his sensitive heart for others. He makes me want to be a better person.
