After making tacos we enjoyed a really nice concert last night. Tonight I'm probably going to make chicken piccatta pasta or dh will grill. He has some veggies he wants to throw on the grill. TBD.
What's on your menu?
Have a great day everyone.

I miss Carblover, too . Dinner will be spaghetti with meat sauce, because DH is cooking tonight (which makes him incredibly grumpy). He cooks maybe four times a year, but that's "too often".

We are having company. BIL & SIL (he had dental work and no teeth so menu is always hard.) So, we are having Spinach artichoke chicken. Dicing chicken, precooking, then shredding. Using frozen chopped spinach and chopping it more and finely chopped artichokes. Having brown and wild rice cooked in broth with finely chopped mushrooms, LeSeuer peas, Red lobster cheddar biscuits. Peach dumplings and ice cream for dessert. I can't wait for next week, when he will get his darn teeth! It's over 100 here today and no one is in the mood for soup again.
Happy Sunday!

We're hanging out at my BIL's pool right now. When we get home I'm going to make the baked macaroni and cheese I was supposed to make yesterday. We'll have steamed broccoli with it because I absolutely love this combo and can't eat Mac and cheese without broccoli!

It's been a rough week so I'm going for comfort food from my childhood: pork chops with Milnot gravy, rolls, and mashed potatoes. It's gonna be a hassle, and make a mess, but I'm hoping something goes the way I want it to for once this week. Fingers crossed.

Birthday pool party this afternoon for my son featuring Mexican food, so I will be making refried beans and New Mexican rice to take with me shortly. And if I should come home hungry by any chance, my fridge is full of leftovers again.

Leftover potato salad from yesterday, sauteed chicken strips, and harvard beets. Maybe, just maybe some lemon cheesecake from my Instant Pot! (it looks good so far... we'll see how it is after chilling.)

Just to prove my split political personality (thanks, lucyg!), we are having real beef cheeseburgers and guacamole. It's too hot to grill outside, so I'm doing them in the iron skillet.

I'm not sure....leaning toward grilled Iowa chops with a baked potato and some sautéed baby broccoli from our garden.....easy peasey. I'm also going to be taking an online break for the next few weeks, I've got a family room to paint, our son is moving into his first apartment next week, I have a romantic getaway coming up with my DH and a few volunteer things looming, so I really need to limit my online time so I can get it all done. I get too damn distracted with online stuff.

Younger son has requested Nacho Pasta (basically jarred Alfredo sauce doctored up w/jarred jalapenos, diced tomatoes & green onions). Nice & easy and won't get in the way of me watching movies today (Picnic is on!).

Well another hot week in the forecast, so I've gone ahead and prepped dinners for most of the week. So my menu will be the same all week - chicken parm casserole, grilled turkey tenderloins, grilled bbq chicken tenderloins, grilled green beans, oven roasted potatoes, oven roasted broccoli, grilled garlic & mozzarella chicken sausages. I think that's everything.

I know I have corn on the cob that really needs to eaten tonight. It was fresh from the farmers market mid week, but I don't want to hang on to it much longer. We'll probably just get into leftovers after that. I'll say for the millionth time: I am blessed with DH who loves leftovers.

Enjoy your families, the meals you share, and each other.

KelleeM, I feel so sad that you are going to leave us. Though I completely understand. I purposely didn't post concert details on the thread yesterday, because someone could google it and find out where I am. It's so stupid, but we have some unsavory characters in our midst. I have always been a big fan of yours. I really want you to be happy and enjoy your new condo and grandbaby. Take good, loving care of yourself and we'll leave an empty spot at our dinner table just for you. Think of this as a much more gourmet Dennys. We're always open. ((((HUGS)))).

We will miss you KelleeM and hope you will come back one day. I've been a bit despondent this weekend about the events on the board. In my heart, I still think (and hope) that MOST people here care about one another and only have pure intentions. It was a rough, but realistic, reminder that there are creeps and nasty people everywhere on the internet.

A very rare Sunday dinner event - take out! My mom is coming back from a weekend away and she still wants me to come over. It is too hot to cook so I am letting her pick a place and I'll pick up the food on my way to her house.

ETA: We're also having corn on the cob because they had some really nice ones at the store this morning Do you grill your corn? I'm lazy and do it in the microwave wrapped in damp paper towels. We had some on Friday night and it was pure perfection! Also, because I hate for DH to waste so much butter, I use a stick of butter to rub on the corn so it goes on nicely. It is a *dedicated* stick of butter in the refrigerator.

I'm sorry that Kelleem has decided to leave for the reason stated. I stayed out of that fray because I'm of the mindset that it can be dangerous and hurtful to yourself to put a lot of personal stuff on ANY message board and quite frankly, the behavior of some on that thread left much to be desired also. I learned my lesson on that the hard way on the old board.
Hopefully she'll be back.....breaks are good.....I've taken lots of breaks from this board. Sometimes things are just too busy to be able to engage on a daily basis.

For lunch I made French dip sandwiches and a fruit platter. For dinner we are going out for dd3's belated birthday dinner and she hasn't decided - I think it's between Chinese and Mexican.

lurkingsince2001 , it's a new week and I wish you a much calmer, happier and easier week. Thanks so much! I'm determined to relax, knock out a few projects that have been hanging over my head, do as much hugging as possible, and gently set a few people straight on acceptable behavior. Like so many of us, I've been doing for and giving to people who are taking me for granted and taking advantage. Change is scary but necessary, so I'm putting on my Big-Girl panties and doing what I need to. We'll all be better for it.
