I didn't watch. Why not, you may ask? Because my mom took me (and the rest of the crew to include my boy and a handful of sisters and brother with their families) to the beach for my birthday. All she asked was for us to not talk politics. (Which, by the way, is REALLY hard.) Part of that was that she banned all tv watching. Except for baseball. She let the boys watch baseball. ETA: The baseball thing wasn't a sexist boy thing, it was a handful of grandsons who BEGGED to watch baseball and as the Queen Mimi she simply couldn't deny her precious grandbabies their ability to watch their game.

And yeah, dont be holding your breath waiting on Trump being on their show anytime soon. Why? Is there some bad blood between Mr. Trump and 20/20? Or are you saying he's been snubbed by TV magazine shows? Trump was on 60 Mins the week bf. I linked it upthread. He is getting plenty of air time. The OP said 20/20, but Hillary was on 60 Mins and so was Trump last weekend.

I saw the Trump segment. I am not a Trump for president supporter and felt it was favorable to him.

I was confused 'cause it sure seems he's been getting a lot of press/interviews since the beginning - that's been an ongoing criticism OF the media - but I don't watch much TV news or magazine shows, so wasn't sure. And the 60 Minutes/20-20 thing was confusing - I read the posts, but still thought Mrs. Clinton was on 20/20. Need coffee Diet Coke.

I didn't watch a single second of the RNC, but still know pretty much everything that went on. Liar! --------------------------- I didn't watch the convention. I used to watch conventions, but I can't stand the new brand of Talking Head coverage. I did follow the news, read transcripts of speeches by Mrs. Trump and Governor Pence, listened to Mr. Trump's speech on the radio, and read and posted here. Seriously, Hillary Clinton is one very busy woman. I'm guessing she did things like I did....except she also has a staff that briefs here...and she probably didn't post here. (But she definitely read all the convention threads here. ) I swear, the woman could say she ate breakfast and somebody would call her a liar. I watched on a station that had no commercials and no commentary.

I watched on a station that had no commercials and no commentary. Good idea. It'd be interesting to see how people's reactions are formed by which (if any) coverage they watched. Truth be told, I also just don't like how slick and canned the conventions have gotten. They were always jingoistic, but now I feel really manipulated...and then I get grumpy 'cause they think they can manipulate me so easily. I liked the old, freer-wheeling conventions. Grumble, grumble. ("Freer"? "Free-er?" "FREEER"?)

@mytnice the Conan clips are hysterical, but really mock the fact that most TV stations are owned by one of three media conglomerates, which is not the same thing as the big networks. This article includes another Conan clip and talks about how different networks are sharing staff & stories. To offer one example, CBS and NBC affiliates in Syracuse, New York, use separate anchor teams but run nearly identical stories produced by a shared group of reporters. In some markets, partner stations run virtually identical newscasts, albeit at different times. And then there are stations like the CBS and NBC affiliates in Honolulu, which don't even bother staggering the times: They run identical newscasts simultaneously.
IMHO, the most shocking takeaway from the headlines is someone at NBC can't spell journey . I watched Trump's speech and agree with the headlines. Why wouldn't they be similar if reporting the same story?Because, there are infinite number of ways they could have described it and what they could have focused in on and they all chose the exact same way, and all used the exact same word.

Reference to Trump, correct? Not when it's in response to a comment on Hillary being called a liar.

I watched both 60 Minutes interviews. Neither asked difficult questions. I thought the purpose of the interviews was to introduce us to the running mates. If that was the case, both failed. The interviews should have been with the running mate only. We already know plenty about Trump and Clinton. We know they are only going to say favorable things about themselves and get in as many of their talking points as possible.
If the interviews had been one-on-one, Pence might have gotten a word in edgewise and Kaine might have had questions actually directed at him instead of the majority directed at Clinton.

Sorry, I don't believe she didn't watch the RNC. SaveSaveSo what? In the end does it really matter? Not worth losing sleep over.

So what? In the end does it really matter? Not worth losing sleep over. You should go with the long version, because it shows that she was making a valid point. People have used this short clip to completely twist her words. :i know you weren't referring to the hearings, but man, this clip has been used against her in the most vicious ways by Hannity, Limbaugh and their ilk. It is just a very, very bad, misleading clip. And yes, it doesn't make my difference if she watched or not. I heard that she won't be there for Bill's speech.

Dark, dark & more dark. Don't forget angry- lots of hits for "angry". They all got the talking points memo. ^^^ I just watched the Conan clip that Gia posted in her post right above this one, and it was pretty amusing... apparently all the news shows get the same exact story and read it in their own broadcast rather than actually writing their own content. Doesn't surprise me; so the important thing is which way the 'first' or 'original' story was written. Of course, they could read news without using ANY embellishing adjectives at all-- since news is supposed to be unbiased reporting of events, and all- and then we could make our OWN assessment of things.... but I guess they figure what fun would that be?? (actually, it's VERY galling to be 'told' what to think about something rather than being given the info to make my own assessment-- that's why I don't read newspapers or listen to / watch television news.)

Trump is not exactly known for his relentless adherence to truth.Couldn't agree more, but the point being made was, poor Hillary, no one believes anything she says anymore. I don't feel sorry in the least bit, for the consequences she faces of being caught in so many lies.
