I was 21 and I remember feeling that I was so "mature and grown-up". Crazy right. We did something right because we are still married but looking back it's so easy to see how incredibly young we really were. I just started thinking about this because we know a young man who is 18 that may be getting married. I hope he waits awhile but I can imagine how he may be thinking how grown-up he is just like I did. Ahhh, youth.

I was 21 and we had a nine month old. We just celebrated our 20th anniversary. If I were to go back, I would wait. Now DD will be 21 in a couple months. Thankfully she is not any where near ready. She wants to finish school first.

I was 19. We were good friends before we got married and we're going strong 18 years later. I'm glad I married my best friend, but I hope my daughters don't get married that young.

I was 29. We were proper grown-ups. I wanted to have a baby and I wanted to be married first.

Regardless of our ages we were dumb kids with a lot to learn. We were poor, in debt from college loans, trying to find work, living across the country from our families, immature, and scarcely ready for anything. We had both grown up with nothing and we were fighting tooth and nail to do better.
We overcame a lot of shit to get where we are. We have been married 16 years and many of those were particularly refining for us. I am proud of what we achieved and that we did it together.
We exemplify that statement of you can let life make you bitter or make you better.

I was 20, and that was 29 years ago, and we sleep in separate beds, but we're doing just fine, thankyouverymuch to the RefuPea who posted on the sleeping separately thread that she knew why so many RefuPeas complained about their sex life -- that wasn't me! I remember being very calm. One of my sorority sisters came to see me before the ceremony. She brought a card with a very sweet letter, and then she cried. She had gotten married right after high school, and it didn't last, so she was already divorced by the time she was a sophomore in college. I hugged her and wondered why she was so upset. It was just a wedding, after all. Yikes! Still -- I was young, and I'm glad neither of my children married so young.

A month before my 21st birthday. He was 25. We were together 4 years before we got married. We've been married 18 years. I thought I was grown up, I hope my girls don't get married that young.

Three weeks shy of 22, he was almost 25. And it was 23 years ago. I would do it again in a heartbeat. We still had people tell us we were too young and these were people who married younger than we were.

We where 21 and still going stronger then ever 18 years later!! I wouldn't change a thing, we are each others best friend and we have grown up together. I feel very fortunate that we found each other so early in life! Having said that, I don't want my kids to get married that young!
