I ordered some skin care products through Rodan & Fields and it was set to be delivered today. I left the house at 10:35 and got back around 12:45. Around 1, FedEx pulled into my driveway and one of my dd's said the guy got out of his truck, walked around back and fished around back there, and then got back into his truck and left. I logged into my account to get the tracking info and it showed that it had been delivered by Fex Ex at 11:07am this morning.
We live on a small cul-de-sac with only 4 other houses. 1 neighbor is on vacation (although they're having roof work done so there are strangers over there), 1 set of neighbors rarely comes out of their house, the other 2 neighbors keep to themselves. While we're not super close with the neighbors, I don't take any of them as thieves, stealing packages off my porch.
So I sent a message to my R&F rep and explained the situation. She called corporate right away and they reached out to FedEx. They were still waiting to hear back from the driver but they basically are refunding my money - recharging my card and sending out a whole new order asap (which caused a whole other set of issues because that acct didn't have much money in it and so I had to race to the bank to deposit some cash as to not bounce checks). So anyway, not 10 mins after I'm done talking about this with my rep, FedEx drives up and around my circle but doesn't stop here.
We live in a small town....and my quiet cul-de-sac rarely sees much traffic outside of the folks that live here. It's just a whole situation of weirdness. Corporate R&F said if I end up getting both shipments, to keep them both for my inconvenience.
I have to say I'm super impressed with their customer service and how quickly they resolved it. But it bothers me...because either FedEx didn't deliver like they said OR someone snatched it. Either way, it doesn't give me warm fuzzies. DH now wants to install a camera.
Have any of you ever had this happen? What kind of solution did you have?

I have had a LOT of trouble with FedEx. I avoid them like the plague. I have trouble with package pick ups, deliveries, you name it. I am glad you can keep both shipments if you get them both. That would certainly help this icky situation. Just one of the issues we had was a delivery to the wrong house (just 4 doors down). I forget how we figured it out but the "neighbor" had opened it and was going to keep the item. So not only was I mad at FedEx but the neighbor too. It was a very expensive purse. And I guess my only solution is that I truly try not to use FedEx because of the the many, many problems we have had over countless years.

I would totally be ripped - ESPECIALLY with the neighbor!! How dishonest! We get FedEx Delivery no less than once a month because it's how we get our dog food. And in all the time we've had deliveries, we've never had a problem. But man - I hope I don't end up with a string of issues like you've had!! I don't get delivery options with R&F...it always goes FedEx. I'd hate for this to be a recurring problem.

But it bothers me...because either FedEx didn't deliver like they said OR someone snatched it. Either way, it doesn't give me warm fuzzies. DH now wants to install a camera. Have any of you ever had this happen? What kind of solution did you have? Yes, I ordered Christmas gifts one year from radio shack. I was standing in front of my front door waiting for my kids to get off the bus- and had been there for at least 20 mins because the bus was late and the driver would not let the kids off the bus without seeing an adult- when I decided to use my ipad to log on and check my tracking. It showed the package was delivered to my front door 6 minutes before. Uh. No. It was not. I called FedEx who said the shipper had to file the complaint. I then called radio shack which immediately replaced the order (no messing with recharging my card, etc) and said they would recoup that from FedEx. Within a few hours a FedEx van pulled into the house across the street (no one was living there). He went up to the porch, returned to his truck and proceeded on to each of the neighbors houses, talking to them. The next day our regular FedEx guy in his truck returned and did the same thing. Honestly, I was standing RIGHT there and the FedEx van NEVER came to any of my neighbors houses that day. I don't know where he delivered it but it wasn't our neighborhood. The second package was actually delivered as the regular driver was canvassing our neighborhood again. He said he couldn't remember where he delivered it, either.
Honestly, I *think* the driver took it, tried to claim he left it at the house across the street, not knowing I had been watching and not knowing that house was empty. It is the only explanation I have.

I haven't had issues with FedEx but had a similiar situation with the post office. I received notice it was delivered (uh, nope) and spoke to the regular carrier and he KNEW he delivered it to my house. I spoke ot the Post Office supervisor and their claim was that if the carrier said he delivered it then he did. I am almost always home, especially when I know packages are arriving. My package was form Amazon and they replaced it immediately. Anyhow, fast forward a full week later and the man who lives exactly one block over is standing on my porch with the original package. He had been on vacation and his house sitters had brought it in, as one would expect someone would do. Thank goodness he is so honest. He receives my mail infrequently enough that I recognize him. The odd part about the carrier knowing he delivered to my address was he told me he would be asking the man at the other address if it ended up there BUT he couldn't because of the vacation. BTW - Amazon sent me a shipping label to return the cleaners when I reported that the package had finaly made it to me. brandy327 - I am glad that you will have your replaced items soon.

Fed Ex just does NOT have a reliable system. For one thing they hire less capable drivers than UPS.

Just this week my Homechef box was left on a neighbor's doorstep about a block away. To be fair, our addresses are too similar (Ours is 123 Streetname CT, and theirs is 123 Streetname DR). The neighbors brought it to us a few days later (we trade mail all the time), but by then the food had all spoiled.
That was the first problem we have had with FedEx, and Homechef credited my account for the entire meal box plus some for the inconvenience.

Still years later I can't believe someone would be SO dishonest. But I still don't like using FedEx because of our other issues. We have had problems in both TX and NC with FedEx.

We have the nicest fedex people. I've only had a problem with them once when dh ordered some large/heavy tool and I was instructed to watch for it on the delivery day. It said delivered, but wasn't so I called fedex right away and it turned out the driver had misdelivered it. She was so annoyed at herself because it was big and heavy. When she got to our house I had my teenagers unload it and bring it in and the two of them lifted it like it weighed nothing.
But we do have our share of mis-deliveries here. One house in particular gets a lot of our deliveries and we either walk over or it finds our way here by evening when they get home. It seems to be a problem because our streets are numbers, rather than names.

I have medication delivered every month by them and I have to sign for it. They are so inconsistent- I always have it sent to the FedEx station now and I pick it up. Your situation sounds very strange- like delivery guy "pretended" to deliver it and then snatched it???

I had a repeating order for a few months, that was delivered by FedEx. They kept leaving the small box at my garage doors. I have a large covered front porch facing a quiet street, yet they insisted on leaving these little packages at my garage doors that is completely exposed to a busier side street. Anyone driving by can see a little box there, zip right into my driveway and pick it up - and that's just what happened. I called FedEx and they insisted they delivered the box to my garage because there had been reports of package theft on my street so they didn't want to leave the box at my front door (where it could barely be seen from the street because of the size) but felt it was better at my very exposed view garage doors. I work for a web based company that uses FedEx for the delivery method. How they handle packages is perplexing.

One day I checked online to see about a package and saw that it had been delivered. We had been at home all day, so we knew the package had not been delivered. When I called to complain, the lady I talked to at FedEx said that it had been delivered and that I should check all around the house and ask my neighbors if they had it. Two hours later it was delivered. When she called to see if I had found it I told her that he had just delivered it. She said he must have accidentally posted that it was delivered.
