As windows keeps reminding me..... time is running out Apparently there's only like 3 days left to upgrade for free. I've stalled as long as possible, now I must decide.....upgrade or no? FWIW I'm currently on Windows 8 (that's what came w/ my Dell laptop) and it's fine, but all I really ever do is done is the old-style desktop mode, I never did adjust to the fancy new app-style mode. I'm not change-resistant persay, just lazy and never got around to learning it I backed everything up to my external hard drive this morning so I'm ready to jump. What did you do, what do you recommend?

I've upgraded 3 machines to Windows 10 without issue. I have no issue with the "new" things involved. Others experience different results. Others have a vehement reactions to the contrary.

I will not update. I have some programs and drivers that won't play well with 10.
I choose to use the os that comes with the computer

If you have an older printer or other device, you might want to check to see if it's compatible. Or, just bite the bullet and upgrade the printer as well (if it isn't compatible)

DH updated his work craptop and desktop machines without any problem. My mom, who isn't exactly a technology wunderkind, asked DH for his thoughts and then updated her laptop a few weeks ago. She had no problems at all.

I just upgraded from 7 to 10. It will take me a while to figure out some things. I hope my wireless printer will work. Good luck!

Well that sounds promising. My laser and label printers are each less than 2 years old. The only other thing I use are the Silhouette Cameos, one is a little older so I'd better check that there's no issues there.

I don't mind windows 10 itself, but it did render every function on my printer - except very basic printing directly from my computer - obsolete. Meaning no scanning, no faxing, no printing from the network or from an SD card, etc...

I'm like you, op. I use Windows 8 in desktop mode and have done very little fiddling around with the live tiles and such. Just lazy and don't care to mess with them.
My printer is a few years old as is my router. My laptop itself isn't super new so I'm just going to leave it with 8 and not mess with the 10 upgrade. I just don't feel like dealing with any hardware compatibility issues when I'm very happy with what I have now.

My then 12ds thought he would do me the favour of following the download prompt. I wasn't too pleased after reading about so many having issues. Thankfully nothing went haywire.

I down loaded Windows 10 and wish I didn't. I can't install anything unless I do it as a command on a CMD screen as a admin even though my account is an admin. Other weir stuff to.
