At first I felt like I was watching last night like you watch a scary movie...through the barely-spread fingers of my hands held in front of my face.
But I ended up being so pleased with how the evening went and feeling hopeful that we've turned a corner.
Tonight the first female will be nominated to represent the Democrats for POTUS. A day for the history books!
Former President Bill Clinton is speaking.
"Mothers of the Movement" will also address the convention.
It seems Bernie has spent a good portion of his day trying to persuade those holding tightly to the Bernie or Bust movement to let go and move forward with Hillary.
I thought it might be helpful to have a new thread for the events of the day/night.

Not a big fan of having the mothers speak, just like I didn't like it at the rnc.

I totally agree with you, OP. Last night turned out beautifully. I think MSNBC is deliberately hunting down the most annoying Bernie-or-Busters to interview on air, though.
All I can say is, I hope every one of those people is proud when Pres. Trump's shiny new Supreme Court overturns Roe v. Wade, same-sex marriage, and the last vestiges of the Voting Rights Act.

FWIW, I think the DNC set the bar dangerously high on Monday. I think it could be hard for other nights speakers to have such positive results. Maybe they can keep the momentum though, I dunno.

Yes, the bar was set high for sure after last night. Bill Clinton is known to be an effective speaker. Hopefully he will keep the tone positive and convey a clear message.

I'm excited to hear the speeches tonight. I love Elizabeth Banks!
It will be hard to top last night, but hoping for another good one.
Thank you to those who are not fans of the DNC --allowing those of us who do to have a thread to celebrate!

Loved hearing from the woman who was 8 years old when she went with her mother to the polls after women had been given the right to vote.

The senator from New York sounds like he is talking out his ass.
Some of the stuff he is saying is making me want to vote for Johnson instead of Clinton.

Didn't really love Elizabeth Banks' entrance and opening remarks. Where's Sarah Silverman when you need the funny?

Not a big fan of having the mothers speak, just like I didn't like it at the rnc. I didn't like seeing this in the line-up either, but I saw a group interview this morning that left me very hopeful that their message will go over well. Crossing my fingers. I've seen Donna Brazile interviewed and participate on political panels and was pleasantly surprised with her energy on the stage . SaveSave

freecharlie I have seen her on Good Morning America - arguing. Perhaps if she isn't arguing I could tolerate her. But what I saw was irritating as heck. I finally hit mute.

I'm watching Eric Holder currently.
Listening to these speakers makes me realize why I am libertarian and want to vote Johnson. If the GOP had a different candidate or if the SCOTUS seat had been filled, I probably would.
