What a wonderful lad! And a testimony to wonderful parents who have brought him up well.
When my DH was a year older than your son, his parents went away for a weekend. He did the party thing too, and put away the whole of his mother's enormous frog ornament collection in advance so nothing for broken. The party was wild, but nobody died and everything got cleaned up beautifully. The trouble came when he decided that the house looked a million times better without all these wretched frogs, and left them carefully wrapped in the cellar. When his parents came home, his mum cried - at the clean house but also because her frogs had gone. He had to unpack and reposition every one of them.
30-odd years on and she still has the damn frogs...

jenjie ----As to not highjack your thread, I wanna thank you for inspiring me to start a new one about things we pet lovers do to ease our/ their sadness when we leave them. We have a joke that they have WILD PARTIES---makes US feel better, since their wittle faces look soooo sad when we back out of the driveway!!! (that's why I said YOUR thread inspired me)....so, thanks! Have a lovely weekend.....Although I am (obviously!) SO very sad for what you and your children have been through; and realize how very hard it is day-to-day, I am so HAPPY about recent events that are uplifting you!!!! (( hugs ))

scrappintoee that's great! I don't tend to worry about the pets while we are gone but dh would. The first time we went away he sent a bag with enough food for the entire time we were gone. With instructions on how much to give her at each meal. His parents called us and got him worried because the dog was sick. He was ready to go home. Turns out they let her have all of the food at one meal! Ever since then, he would portion control in plastic bags.

Y'all must have done something right- good job! I'd likely come home to a stack of Gatorade bottles and red gaming eyes! I expected something along those lines!! He did ask why I didn't get him snacks before I left. #1 I asked what he wanted. He said pop tarts and chicken pot pie. "You know what I like!" Sorry.... But point #2 he enjoys walking to the grocery store. And I left him plenty of money for whatever he might want.
