I'm in Paris this week and wondering if there are any scrapbooking, crafts, or even pretty stationary stores I should visit? It would've fun to pick up a few small things here but the last time we were here I was only able to find some stickers at the BHV and certainly I can do better... ?

I found one scrapbooking store there years ago, but I can't remember the name. For stationery you should visit the BHV Marais, two blocks from the Notre Dame cathedral, that departement was amazing! I also found some stationery in the museum shops we visited.

If I was going to Paris, I would not be spending time looking for a craft store. Save tickets, napkins, brochures, etc and use them for your scrapbook. Even postcards from museums, work.

Temple du Scrap is one I've heard mentioned in the past, but I'm not sure the selection is very extensive. Rougher & Ple is a general arts and crafts store but does seem to have a bit of scrapbooking stuff. Here's a post from Amber (Damask Love) about stationery stores and other places she enjoyed visiting in 2013. Hopefully some of them are still around. SaveSave

Wandering in and out of all of the fun little shops is half the charm of Paris. It is not like walking into a Michaels or Hobby Lobby.

I appreciate the response, and I guess I should have added a bit more context. Yes I am on vacation, but I've also been to Paris 10+ times in the last 5 years so I've done most of the typical touristy things. I thought it might be fun to find some scrapbooking supplies unique to this beautiful city. SaveSave

They are all mixed in together. I would have loved to have found one store dedicated to just scrapping when we were there.

I found a few things at the Monoprix on the Champs Elysees. There wasn't a "section", but just stationary items. And I found a metal bookmark of the Eiffel Tower that was super thin that I used in the scrapbook.

I'm from France but all the way down south, far away from Paris. Scrapbooking just isn't that big over here and most purchase online from a select few proper French SB retailers. Very few of these have a physical boutique you can shop at, none of these are located within Paris city itself as far as I know. If you do go to le Temple du Scrap, ask if they carry Kesi'Art or Florilèges Design for some French stuff. Kesi'Art also make beautiful trendy paper. Otherwise, you can order from one of the online stores and get it delivered to your hotel/holiday home. I suggest lafourmicreative.fr for usually very quick shipping (and free shipping using the French postal service Colissimo service with tracking number for orders above 40 euros) if you're only here for the one week. They carry the latest Kesi'Art and Florilèges Design collections.

Just last week I finished scrapping my trip to Paris 30 years ago and I had about 15 different Eiffel Tower papers. It's like the paper manufacturers think there is nothing else in Paris, haha! Anyway, I had saved all kinds of memorabilia and post cards so my crappy pictures from back then actually became some pretty nice layouts. That is why scrapbooking is so cool. You can record a memory even if you have crappy pics or no pics at all.

I actually just did a blog post about this: www.thepapergoddess.com/paper-shopping-in-paris-stationery-stores/I was there in June. I would say to look for stationary stores and art supply stores. My favorite one was a book shop on St Germain Blvd called L’Ecume Des Pages. In the front i found some cute notebooks, pencils, and other desk supply type stuff. I was able to find things made in France and other European countries, and some cards by local artists, so not just typical "scrapbooking supplies". Enjoy!
