I really need a sheet or two of them. Anybody willing to part with your stash? They have apparently disappeared from the planet!
Thanks, jamh

I am back from the depths of death...I have been sick as a dog, but have come off my death-bed to squee over Sass foldies! I love them so much. They came in three collections: Ellies Tale, Sweetly Smitten and (I think)...Sunshine Broadcast. They were one of the last things Sassafras ever made. If you ordered their warehouse boxes from when they closed you probably got a few of them. I ordered many boxes so I have quite a few sheets. They are a sheet of flat looking die-cut flowers that have tabs you can fold to create dimension. Then you just add foam adhesive, and voila! YOu can also just cut the tabs away and use them as a pre-fussy cut flower, if you like. layered looking flower embellishments. It is sort of hard to explain what they look like so here is an example where I used them recently. These are the ones from Ellie's Tale.

Sorry heard about these for the first time in one of Shimelle's Take 10 classes.... Shimelle is a pretty well known fan of Sassafras Lass. In fact, in her True Stories collection there was supposed to be a similar product to foldies, but it was little punch out houses. unfortunately, they weren't manufactured correctly, so i don't think they ever really showed how great foldies can be. Love your page, impearia ! Glad you are feeling better. I have some SL papers, but no foldies. Little Yellow Bicycle--another defunct manufacturer--had some similar concept items. Theirs were precut and pre scribed to fold into dimensional flowers or rosettes or snowflakes.

What about these vintage diecuts from Pretty Little Studio? They don't have the tabs, but you could add a glue dot to the back to give dimension. There's also a lot of free vintage clipart out there that might work as well. link

I'm glad you're feeling better, Impearia.
I had no idea that Little Yellow Bicycle was no more; the landscape has really changed!!
Sunshine Broadcast is one of my favorite scrap lines ever. The name alone makes me smile! Way back when there was a kit club called Little Red Scrapbook that used to focus on one line each month, and I'm pretty sure I still have some of some of my Sunshine Broadcast kit left. Time to go stash diving.

Impearia, Sorry you were so sick!! Glad you are on the mend! Glitter Girl persuaded me to buy some foldies. I'm not surprised they are hard to find, that was probably 4 years ago! I am sorry I don't have any to spare! I have just a couple of flowers left on my combined 2 sheets! Good luck (And why didn't anyone else pick up this gold mine?

impearia You're back. Hooray!! As for foldies, I've got a few sheets left but you'd have to pry them out of my cold dead hands. And that would probably ruin them.

Hahaha, yes this I have two or three sheets left and they are a fairly prized item in my stash. Foldies were the best and I have no idea why another manufacturer has not started making a comparable product. I do not do flowers on layouts but these were the only ones that I could manage to fit my style and work with.

What? I'm so confused. Where do the tabs go? And welcome back, impearia ! Gorgeous LO! Thank you on both counts carolynhasacat ! You fold the tabs under, and the flowers sort of bunch up, creating a lifted space which you then fill with foam adhesive. It is sort of hard to describe, but simple to do. Save

I saw these on some old Shimelle videos on YouTube! carolynhasacat - I think she used them on some of her 4x6 photo love videos, perhaps, and definitely on one of the GG videos where she reworked a layout to add some more decoration to the page. Old videos. But they really are quite magical. I've never used them in real life, but I was convinced by watching Shimelle. It's like a chain of flowers linked by tiny tabs. Shimelle has some products that are sort of similar, like the little trains in her Christmas line. But the flowers were better.

an explanation directly from ShimelleI the two sets that I managed to snag as sassafrass was closing down. I wish Shimelle would come out with more of that sort of thing. I don't think the designers at American Crafts love the idea though.
