Things are going pretty well! He did poop in his crate last night. Ick. But whereas our old dog used to lay in it, he stayed as far away as he could. Hopefully that's not something he makes a habit of. He went out at 11 and then again at 2 and pottied. We got up at 5:30. So it's not like he's going an excessive amount of time in the crate. I'm guessing it's still just puppy stuff. We did have a little incident last night where Starsky was trying to play with him and he stepped on Canon's back leg. He yelped 3 or 4 times and wouldn't get up. We scooped him right up and held him and within 3 mins, he was back running around like the crazy pup he is!! Scared the ever lovin' crap out of me!! We went to the vet this morning...sorry it's blurry. I had to hold him with one hand and take the pic with the other because he wanted down in the worst way. They did a fecal and everything was good there. They clipped his nails and cleaned out his nasty, dirty ears. LOL And he got a couple of boosters and they gave him deworming meds (something they give to all puppies apparently). He has to go back next week for Rabies since he'll be 12 weeks. He's now 13 lbs. And I took a pic of him with something for comparison for y'all to see! He was exhausted after we got back (he's still sleeping and we've been back 2 hours).

Prepare yourself once the de-wormer starts working. Oh no, it's not going to give him the runs is it?! He doesn't HAVE worms, they do it just as a preventative!! Now I'm scared!!!!

He is such a cutie. Is his crate where you can hear him if he wakes up and needs to go? We put our girl's crate right next to the bed so I could hear her fine she whined. Instead of me decided when it was time to go out, I let her tell me. Also. If his crate is large, try dividing with a barrier of some sort. Dogs, typically don't like to mess where they sleep, and he will wake you up if he doesn't have room keep his mess separate.
It is just like having a newborn, isn't it?

LOL The reason I asked you how you fed him is because we feed ours 2 times a day and No matter when we feed them most days it is 7 am and 7 pm but Pearl she will poop right after she eats and then again about 11:30 pm.... not sure why but that has always been the thing she does. and then she goes out again at about 2:30 am if I get up in the middle of the night she thinks she has to also.... So that has become our nightly thing. and if daughters bedroom door is open skip thinks he has to go out also. and if Gadget is on our bed he wants to go in with amanda. so even if Amanda's door is closed "I still have to take all three of them out in the middle of the night. I am really glad I don't free feed I would be taking her out around the clock....

Now I'm scared!!!! If he doesn't have worms then it won't be bad. When we adopted our pup she DID have worms and not only did she have the runs and would have an accident in the house, the accident would be nothing but a pile of worms. It was, to say the least, disgusting. But she was worth every moment.

Yes, he is in a large crate and we do have it divided into a small section. We're doing it the same way we did it with our other rescue. While the crate isn't in the bedroom, I can most definitely hear him if he whines. LOL He's NOT a quiet puppy in the least. And I still have those crazy sensitive mom ears. We actually have to take our older dog's collar off at night because just the jingling of his tags in the middle of the night is enough to keep me awake/wake me up. It's most definitely like having a newborn!! LOL I'm exhausted and I napped this afternoon when he napped!!

I remember a puppy my parents getting that had worms and it being the nastiest thing ever when he pooped out the worms!! He actually had deworming meds a week ago but our vet STILL highly recommends the deworming meds.

Poor pup has taken the trip to the vet pretty hard today. He took a 3 hour nap. Got up and did his business outside and came back in and crashed again. He hasn't moved again in an hour. Look at this face... This is the best puppy face ever!!! His coat is just beautiful. I love his colors.
