My SIL took some pictures with her digital point and shoot camera. She emailed them to me and they showed normal in the email. (Normal as in rectangular size) I saved them to my laptop (not a MAC) and now they are square. I saved them to my work laptop (also not a MAC) and the same thing happened. Square. Am I doing something wrong?

Hmmm, I have no clue either but I know that if I'm not paying attention, the camera on my Iphone will move from "photo" to "square"... maybe the photos were taken on the "square" setting??
Edited to add: Hmmm, just re-read that these photos were taken with a camera, not an Iphone. Hmmm....

It sounds like they were actually square before she sent them, my gmail for some reason showed them rectangular. Which means her camera took them square. But that confuses me, because I have 5 photos of my 2 yr old nephew that were all taken within 5 minutes of each other and I can't imagine my SIL would have changed the camera settings as she doesn't know how. But 2 of the 5 photos are square and the rest are rectangular.
