I ordered some 12x12 SU cardstock off ebay. The seller has a 100% positive rating, with 827 feedbacks. I received it today and it was in a large padded envelope, with no other support to the cardstock. Just 2 shrink-wrapped packages loose in the envelope. One package of the cardstock (12 sheets) was fine. The other package (another 12 sheets) is bent, with several creases in it. Why would anyone think that's adequate protection for paper going through the mail???
I'm hoping to get it resolved, but I am so irritated at this!!

I hate it, because sometimes the package isn't full, but I ALWAYS ship paper in a Flat Rate box.

I heard back from her very quickly. She's going to send me a replacement package, so that's good. Still, it was not smart to ship it that way.

It's hard, the shipping thing, because people don't like spending money on shipping but it IS expensive and it's hard to ship oversized items like 12x12 scrapbooking stuff, in an affordable manner.

Glad you are getting a replacement. Hopefully, when you get it, it will be shipped better and it won't be damaged.

I would never even attempt to ship 12x12 paper that way, it's just asking for a problem. I recently sent out a single diecut overlay (literally two pieces of cardstock in a plastic bag) in a .65 corrugated mailer because I just knew it would get trashed in the mail sending it any other way. When you calculate all the extra time, packaging and not to mention replacement product to reship even part of a package, it ends up costing more money than the order was worth instead of just paying to ship it in a box the first time around!

I have a question for those of you that ship things, I have some packages of stickers and/or thickers alphabets that I would like to send to a friend, how would you mail them without bending them? Packages are probably 5 or 6 inches wide by 10 or 12 inches long.

that is my fear about buying paper online. it's bad enough they can get dented in boxes but what if someone ships in an envelope like OP's did? the only time I have purchased paper online, I bought enough other stuff that I knew they would have to ship it in a box. the corners of the box still came slightly dented and so did the paper inside.

Packages are probably 5 or 6 inches wide by 10 or 12 inches long. I would probably try to sandwich them between two pieces of heavy cardboard and slip them into a cardboard Priority Mail flat rate envelope if they fit, and stamp or write "DO NOT BEND!" in several places on the outside. As long as it is fairly rigid, it should be okay.
