myboysnme can I join your club? My light green gloss drops did the damn explosion thing right on a layout, the rest of my desk, a spread out new pack of PL cards, a just opened sheet of school puffy stickers, my arm, the floor. Everywhere. I was wet wiping that mess up for a good twenty minutes. I was able to save the photo that was on my desk, and able to clean up most of the other stuff. I nearly had a coronary. So, now my rule will to only use the other 5 bottles I have on wax paper, on a bare surface (ie, not my scrap desk), let them dry, then glue them on my layout. I am just so disappointed. I won't be buying more of these. I will just have to buy enamel dots on sale.

Oh no! Sorry about your disaster! This is definitely a good warning. You must have been so upset!
If I had to make dots separately and glue them on, I'd rather go back to enamel dots. Were you making the first dot from a clogged bottle when it exploded, or did it happen randomly as you worked? I'm wondering if it's a safe bet to start some dots away from my layout, then work on it once it's flowing.
It sounds like the bottles aren't glued together securely enough if they come apart with pressure like this. Yikes!

I'm so sorry, what a PITA! I can imagine it would not be pleasant cleaning it up that's for sure I have used them quite a lot (did a DT blog post about them the other day here if anyone is interested) and not had a problem. I do wonder if it has something to do with where you use them, what temperature the house is etc. I use mine in a conservatory so it's quite warm in there, we don't have air conditioning in the house. I've always wondered about whether the house conditions do affect things. I've seen Americans saying things like all their Thickers fall off their LO's or the packets they're stored in, and if they use Herma adhesive, everything falls to the bottom of the page protector in their album. I haven't had any of these problems and I've used Thickers and Herma for years. It does interest me.

That stinks! Glad you could save most of the stuff. Like oaksong , I was wondering if this happened at the beginning or in the middle of your process with that bottle. Also wondering if the top came off, or the bottle cracked open? I have found most of them seem to flow easily for my if I test on wax paper first, but the metallics are much stiffer. I have had to unclog those with a wire whenever I use them. Also wondering if anyone has tried storing them upside down--in one of those TH thingies for Liquid Pearls, or something like that--and if that might make a difference.

I'm sorry that happened to you. It's so upsetting to work on a layout and then having something go terribly wrong. Stories like this do make me a little nervous about trying them. It sounds like you've come up with a good solution but it would be nice to be able to use them directly on the layout.

Has anyone talked with Tonic Studios about this issue? I remember someone else had this same thing happen to them.

I'm so sorry! I finally found a review of them (after I had 26 bottles on order) and found out that they were NOT hard when dry like enamel dots and still had a stickiness to them (which meant that over time if I took the time to squirt out every bottle into dots and store them together, they would have started to get stuck to each other) so I decided to sell them before I even got them. I tried one bottle (accidentally received a duplicate of one of the colors) and while it dried okay, I didn't love them the way I do my enamel dots. I'm so relieved they sold quickly and I was able to get my money back on them (I barely broke even) because I felt like the company was misleading the market by comparing them to enamel dots because them not being completely hard when dry is one of the primary characteristics of enamel dots and these just don't meet that requirement (and that's why I bought them...they were advertised as being firm like enamel dots, not just looking like them). I buy my dots mostly on sale, too. While I don't need anymore, AT ALL (except for a primary red...I seem to have nothing that is a true primary red) I'm tempted to order some that I've had in my cart on Ali Express for weeks. Nothing beats the real deal!!

I felt so happy, thinking that I could buy a product to make enamel dots for so much less money than buying premade dots. But it feels tainted to me now, ya know? Sounds dramatic, but just really peeved me, for it to not work as it should.

I've been using them for a couple months with no problems. No clogs, nothing. The top nozzle part just shot out of the bottle. It sounds like the bottles aren't glued together securely enough if they come apart with pressure like this. Well, one of six of mine so far have done this. I was wondering if this happened at the beginning or in the middle of your process with that bottle. In the middle of my process. It just gave me no warning. Also wondering if the top came off, or the bottle cracked open? The top nozzle part came off. The nozzles are weird in that they are inserted into the top of the bottle. As opposed to a nozzle that screws onto the outside of a bottle, like a cap.

They should have been paying you for all the people who bought them after you told us about them, including me.

Ugh no what a PITA! After reading a couple of experiences here I don't think I'll be buying any. They sound like more trouble than they're worth

Wow, so sorry to read this! I thought about getting some but since this is becoming a known issue maybe I'll stick to melting up the 80 gazillion Perler beads I bought a while back...
