...includes checking out your medical professionals apparently.
Ripped the side of my foot open requiring 5 stitches which has slightly delayed us leaving Las Vegas. Eating pancakes at New York New York before deciding if I can face the roller coaster proves that nothing will stop us enjoying ourselves though!
Loving the USA as ever though!

Sounds like your Vegas experience is full of blood, sweat, and tears. Literally. I hope you aren't in too much pain.

Ouch!
When we travel, we see a lot of ERs. I have no idea why, but that seems to be our family's experience! I hope you mend quickly!

Most people come to Vegas, have a drink, see a show...I had a couple of shots (not the alcoholic kind!) & saw a doctor. I also went on the roller coaster...takes more than stitches to stop me!!!

What a thing to happen - but ummmm, getting the full US experience by checking out the medics as well was maybe getting too enthusiastic!! Hope the foot isn't too sore and that you are OK. Enjoy the rest of your stay in Las Vegas!

Bummer but you seem to have a great attitude about it all. Im curious, did you have to jump through any hoops to get medical treatment? I've heard nothing but good stories about US citizens getting medical treatment overseas when on vacation.

What happens in Vegas is supposed to stay in Vegas but I suppose you can consider the stitches a badly purchased souvenir. Ouch.

I can claim all but about $80 dollars of it back when I get home though. I also need to pick up a prescription for antibiotics & possibly get the stitches removed before I get home...

Ouch, that sound nasty. Hope it's not too painful for you and that it won't hinder your holiday in any way. Yes, we are lucky as far as medical treatment in the UK. It's only when we go away that we realize it I think. I remember when DD had an ear infection when we there in the US a few years ago. the antibiotic were " How much" ?? good job we had insurance. I nearly fainted when she told me. Hope the rest of your holiday will be uneventful.

Seriously?? You've got to come up with a better story. An ER visit in Vegas is just itching for a more salacious story than that!

I'm sorry you got hurt, and hope the rest of your holiday is fun.
But if you have to get sick or hurt on vacation, Vegas is the place to do it. When we were there in June I got shingles. Every single person we encountered was amazing, kind, helpful and a pleasure to deal with.
From the nurse at the Walgreen's clinic who said "That's shingles and it's too close to your eye. You need to go to the ER RIGHT NOW." And then didn't charge us, printed out directions to the ER and called them to tell them we were coming. The ER doc who got us in and out within 2 hours, the billing lady who said "No problem" and took care of the insurance without a hitch. The CVS that was slammed and told DH it would be 2 hours or more. When they heard the situation, they asked where we were staying and came back a few minutes later saying "Here is the address of the CVS closest to where you are staying. We sent your Rx over to them, it should be ready by the time you get there." We had a text as we pulled into the parking lot saying it was ready - and the pharmacist looked at me, handed me water and said "you should go ahead and take this now." The ER strongly suggested a followup visit with an ophthalmologist. We called the next morning and they saw me at 9:00. (Seriously? I couldn't get into my own eye dr that I have used for 15 years that fast!!) When I was talking to the dr, she asked about the kids, and said "You're from Cityname, Texas? I went to XYZ College of Medicine and my friend so-and-so lives in Cityname and has kids the same age as yours. Do you know her?"
Vegas - truly the nicest people ever.
