It's so hot and humid here in the NE, that if you open a door to your home and it's located in a room with a smoke detector, the humidity will set off the smoke detector.

I was in Toronto a few weeks ago and I'm pretty sure I had heat exhaustion. DD said I lost all my Texan cred getting heat exhaustion in Canada. Meanwhile, it was 105 when we moved her into her dorm and I was just fine. Apparently it's just the Canadian heat that gets to me.

It is the humidity that comes with having Lake Ontario so close & the effect of being within the 'horseshoe' part of Lake Ontario. All of South Western Ontario gets horrible humidity because of the lake effects from Lakes Ontario, Huron, Michigan & Erie. Humidity from the ocean or gulf, like in Texas, is differently formed than from inland lakes.

The humidity in New England is freaking killing me. Every day the windows are fogged up, both home and work! I hate having the A/C on 24/7. Last summer was nice. Cool even. There were a couple of days each month where I could turn the air off and open the house up. Not this year. I can deal with hot, it's the humidity I hate. HATE IT. Everything feels wet, everything. In the morning, walking the pups, it's steamy/foggy out, I feel like I'm walking through a tropical forest.
Then again....I don't have to shovel sunshine.
So I'm gonna shut up now.

Ok I'm in Georgia and every one of those statements applies here too. I work outside quite a bit (or in our un-air conditioned shop) and have to keep a towel in my car for the drive home because my clothes stay wet almost all day with sweat. We've been getting late afternoon summer showers a lot these last few weeks and while it feels great when they come, the sun comes out right behind the shower and it's like being in a sauna the humidity is so high. UGGGHHHH.
About 2 years ago we decided to see if we could fry and egg on the concrete in the backyard. To keep from having a big mess to clean up I brought a frying pan outside and set it on the concrete then plopped the egg in…and yep, the egg cooked in the pan!

I'm in So. Cal. and we are having a three day mini heatwave of 95, but it is nothing like the hell we lived through last summer. This has been a great summer. I've already decided that if we ever have another summer like last year I'll just slit my wrists and be done with it.
