Received this funny e-mail today from a girlfriend. Thought you all might get a kick out of it!
IT'S SO HOT IN ONTARIO THAT ....
.....the birds have to use potholders to pull the worms out of the
ground.
.....the trees are whistling for the dogs.
.....the best parking place is determined by shade instead of
distance.
.....hot water comes from both taps.
.....you can make sun tea instantly.
.....you learn that a seat belt buckle makes a pretty good
branding iron.
.....the temperature drops below 90 F and you feel a little
chilly.
.....you discover that in July it only takes two fingers to steer
your car.
.....you discover that you can get sunburned through your car
window.
.....you actually burn your hand opening the car door.
.....you break into a sweat the instant you step outside at 7:30
A.M.
.....your biggest motorcycle wreck fear is, "What if I get knocked
out and end up lying on the pavement and cook to death"?
.....you realize that asphalt has a liquid stage.
.....the potatoes cook underground, so all you have to do is pull
one out and add butter.
.....the cows are giving evaporated milk.
.....farmers are feeding their chickens crushed ice to keep them
from laying boiled eggs.

It sure is hot. My AC decided to break as well this week, while my brother-in-law, who is my HVAC guy is in England. NOOO!!!
It is 34 degrees on my top floor, my main floor is a cool 31.
I realize that other places have it so much hotter than here, for much longer of the year, but man I am sweating!

Completely agree. We had a magnificent thunder & lightning storm this afternoon. Crack, sizzle & pop noises when the water hit the pavement.

BRUTAL out there. i hate the heat. and before people say, you will be complaining in the winter... no i will not. l like winter!! i like fall and i like spring. i hate walking outside into soup!!!! that is what it feels like. aka why i will never go to florida in the summer... lol!
we need need these thunderstorms... hoping the weather forecasters are right!

a fair number of those things ARE actually true in Arizona!!
(such as no cold water from the taps no matter how long you run them, seatbelt buckle = branding iron, shade trumps parking space distance, etc.)
I hope it cools off for you soon!!
ETEA: but at least in Arizona we typically don't have the humidity. It DOES make a difference! (and I do get cold when it gets below about 75F now... lol)

I sleep poorly and have very vivid dreams, sleep talk, night terrors etc... At 4 am last night I woke up and I was certain that there was an electrical fire in my house, and the wires were making sizzling sounds. I ran around waking everyone up, unplugging and smelling all the outlets. It was decided that I was crazy. I bet it was the rain popping and sizzling on the pavement outside that I was hearing! <---- not crazy

The sound really snaps & sizzles because the water is colder than the surface. I have had a wierd type of migraine last night and into today. Because I live so close to Lake Ontario a d I live in a high-rise condo, I can see the different storm cells as they form & break into smaller cells or change direction. At dusk, it can be a beautiful show of lightning & storm clouds.

It's not hot in Northern Ontario! We need at least a few more hot days before school starts so we can go swimming a few more times. It was about 20C today.

Very pretty when there is a very thin layer of sunlight between the marine layer and the top layer of angry clouds.

Hahaha! I love it! I shared it on Facebook and one of my friends came back with this:
The devil went back from Georgia A Hobbit threw a ring in my backyard (not sure what this means...lol) My garden hose sprays steam My rock garden turned to lava The statues have a sun tan When people get in the pool, it makes gravy The frozen pizza cooks on the way home.

We're doing the happy dance here because we're getting several days of mid 80s and rain after weeks of high 90s/100s with oppressive humidity.

Oh, wow, you guys are hot. I spent a good part of my summers in Canada growing up, hard for me to picture it that hot.
I can remember a couple of hot days, but we were at Point Pelee, so we didn't care.
Hope you guys cool off soon, when you aren't used to it, it's really hard on the body.

the reason it feels so hot, is because it is really hot. globe and mailthen again, my bff lives in dubai and she posted something about 64 degrees there... so i guess it is all relative to what you are used to. i will try not to post about how funny it is when folks are complaining about how cold it is in the winter... because we have way colder temps and manage just fine.

I read it was hotter in the GTA yesterday than in India yesterday. Least it's raining today. Pretty sad when you happy the humidity is only in the 30ies. It's just gross out.

I'll have to remember them!! As for the Hobbit throwing a ring in the backyard, in the Lord the Rings stories, the evil ring can only be destroyed by throwing it into a pit of boiling lava in a cave in Mount Doom. So your backyard?? must be pretty darn hot / lava-melty, lol!

Seoul is having it's hottest summer on record and it is GROSS. Instant sweat. Our electric bill is going to be thousands and I don't care at all- need AC all day and night.
I've fostered 3 dogs this month and just pulled a 4 th from the pound- it's too hot to go anywhere so may as well stay home and juggle dogs and housebreaking! There is literally nothing worth doing that means leaving the AC in the house, it is so miserable.

That was our summer last year on the BC westcoast, hot, hot, hot! Lawns were brown, you couldn't wash your car, turn on the sprinkler, and this was by the end of July. I was so over it, and we have air conditioning. Fortunately we don't get the same humidity on the westcoast as you do out there.
This summer has been way cooler, with longer stretches in between the heat and I am enjoying it.

I love love the heat EXCEPT I moved this week. Aaaarrrggghhh...
By 7:30 am it was 30 degrees one day, and I had sweat dripping off my nose.
Yesterday rained cats and dogs so I am so glad my move would be worse in that weather.
I may have drank the same volume of water as Lake Ontario has.
Cheers Ro

I am making the call today to have someone come out and put the strongest window tint film they offer on the windows in my bedroom to block out the blistering afternoon sun. My master bedroom is the hottest room in the house and I'm so tired of it. There used to be tinting on them and it was wonderful. It finally blistered and I took it all off and I have no idea why I didn't have it done again. Today's the day for that phone call, no matter what they charge for doing one room. If I didn't have vaulted ceilings and a triangular window that went within inches of the top, I'd tackle it myself. Whatever they charge will be less than the medical bills I would rack up from falling off the ladder, I'm sure.

I'm just here to brag that this South Central Texas girl had a high of 80* in her backyard today, and it is currently 72*. Feels like fall. Well, except for the 99% humidity
