Operation Write Home is slowing down a bit. While I am still going to send my cards to OWH I wanted to also see if anyone knows of any other places I can donate cards. I need some outlet for this. Thank you.

I give all my birthday and Christmas cards to a nursing home. They give them to the residents on those occasions. That way no one goes without one on their special day.
Sorry I didn't mean that I only give those type of cards, actually I give all occasion cards to them but they sell the other occasions to the staff and visitors. I just make sure to have enough BD and Christmas cards for all.

I called my local Ronald McDonald House to see if they needed cards (cuz I can't stop making them!). The donor relations rep was very excited about card donations and told me the themes they need the most - both the staff and the guests use the cards. Our RMH also has a annual "Bake and Craft Sale" fundraiser so I'm going to make some card sets for them to sell.

I made 50 cards and a bunch of gift tags for an animal rescue group... They will sell thematic their annual fund raiser . I have sold cards at church with the money going to a specific charity.

When I had my LSS, I would do a promotion before Thanksgiving. I donated the cardstock and envelopes and my customers would decorate them with stamps or whatever leftover supplies they had on hand to make cards that would be donated to Meals on Wheels to be distributed with the meals over the holidays to the elderly or shut-ins that they served. They were SO excited to get the cards because many of the people they delivered meals to had no family around and the volunteers have as many as 30-50 clients each so buying cards themselves to give to their clients might be outside of their personal budget. It was so fun to show up with 500-600 cards for them to give out to their volunteers, and the one coordinator actually cried when she saw how many cards everybody made and how pretty they were. Gotta love that!

I make cards for the local vet. Some sympathy type ones that they send when a pet has died and then other general ones that they sell to fund animal rescue. Keeps me happy making them and $$ go to a worthy cause.

Love this thread! I don't have a lot of family to give cards to, so this will be perfect for my budding "talent."

Our local Veteran's office was pleased to get some. Veterans that came in for all kinds of services were given access to take a few and then they could write to loved ones. Typically the office was for paper work and benefit assistance. ( not the hospital)

Here in the Philippines we formed a small group who helps destitute kids make cards. They don't get money from it because we give the finished products to hospitals, but they love creating and that keeps them off bad influences. Plus they get to have a hot meal at the end of crafting session. For those who would like to donate items that you no longer need that can be used for card making, we'd be happy to have them. here are some pictures
