I saw that earlier this week...hilarious!!! I fold all mine onto comic book cards and have them on open shelving so I can see them.... I wouldn't use them if they were in crates/boxes. Although I got 66+ yards yesterday at a textile factory sale..... so I had to clean off a new shelf! Now to get quilting again!

Although I got 66+ yards yesterday at a textile factory sale..... so I had to clean off a new shelf! Now to get quilting again! This picture has been making the rounds on all the fabric groups I'm a member of on Facebook! Makes me giggle every time! I fold mine on comic book boards too. I'm running out of space! Right now I have a bunch in an expedite from Ikea, but they are double layered so I can't see all my pretties. I also am buying fabric way faster than I'm sewing it. It is just all so pretty! I have two huge orders that should arrive in the next week. One is at least 40 yards and I think the other one is closer to 150 yards!! The big order is a bunch of Sarah Jane's Magic line and I can't wait to get my hands on it! Some of that is for friends, since we got a deal if I placed the order in bulk for it. Now I just have to hope it doesn't arrive when dh is home! He'll freak about where I'm going to put it. I'm trying to get a bunch of dresses made for dd to try and make some space, but I can't make that much space!

Cracked me up as I store fabric in the pillow shams on the guest room bed.

I have empty space under my bed, that is filled with yarn. My husband has no idea. Mine is filled with metres and metres of fabric. I have four long tubs that fit under my bed and they are crammed with quilters cotton. I haven't even sewn anything in years but I will be damned if you want me to thin my collection. Dh doesn't know it's there so I am safe for now.

Haha, I've avoided this thread because of the title. I have minimal fabric, but could make use of the tip.
DH might leave me if he learned I was hoarding more scrapbook paper, but it would take him 5-6 years to find out! Thanks for laugh!!!

I showed this picture to dh and he asked me if that's what I'm going to do with one of the boy's room when they move out. He knows me too well.

Elannah's scrapbook supply storage. It's an amazing idea.
I have fabric but just the HUGE Rubbermaid container filled with it. It's also all wool. Yeah, it was expensive wool, too. What was I thinking? I used to wear lined wool skirts and pants. I wear yoga pants now. Sigh. It happens.

what is a comic book board I'm going to guess they're stiff pieces of board that comic book collectors use to keep a comic book from sagging / bending when they store them inside individual plastic sleeves... I have no idea where you'd get them (well, comic book store, I suppose) but that's my thought about WHAT they are.

On the comic book boards, you take the length of the fabric and fold it lengthwise in 4ths (it comes of the bolt already folded once, you just fold it again) and then wrap it around the board (much like it is wrapped around the bolt at the store).
Then they fit nicely on bookshelve and hold themselves upright better vertically. Otherwise, you almost have to store it horizontally.
