Dh is showing houses again tonight so he is eating sandwiches right now ... It will be fend for yourself night for the rest of us because we went back-to-school shopping and I am beat Back to school shopping can be exhausting. I took my dgc and with the list that ddil provided, with max prices on the major stuff, did it for her and under budget. We went to the local St. Vincent de Paul (?) thrift store and the clothes were 5 items for $1.00. A local merchant had just dropped off a bunch of new stuff and for $1.00 we got 2 pairs of new jeans & 3 nice tshirts. For my dgc, he wasn't picky. The jeans fit & the tshirts had neutral type graphics. I *think* that this will be my task next year. Glad you survived, as girls are a bit more difficult to shop with/for.

Quinoa salad from Costco and grilled mahi mahi brushed with a cilantro lime chili salad dressing. It is too hot to do anything inside.

I got about 2 solid hours of sleep last night, so dinner will be whatever DH decides to pick up on his way home. I'll get back on the wagon tomorrow. I hope that you get more sleep tonight and will then be more productive. I can't function without at least 6 hours of sleep. Nighty-night.

DH and I went to a movie since he's getting his crown tomorrow ~ I'm thinking something easy like Trader Joe's Teriyaki Chicken over rice with a green salad and a fruit salad.

I'm trying out the IP today! I have the day off since we moved I figured (correctly) that I'd need it! I'm making beef and broccoli with a side of rice. I'll report back!! How did the move go? Do you have enough room for everyone and for your stuff (computer room). It must feel good to have your dgd so close to you. Still keeping you in my prayers.

We have plenty of room for everything. Our garage is looking more and more like a room every day. It's actually become a hang out place when our boys come to visit. We're all committed to making things work. And my granddaughter is just amazing!

@peasville, take it easy after work this week. Don't worry about cooking, just rest and I wish you well. Woobster, I'm wishing you a good night's sleep.

It's pretty dang hot here so I went with a new to me salad I found on Pinterest. It's a BLT pasta salad. Romaine, bow tie pasta, tomatoes, applewood smoked bacon and a BBQ ranch dressing. I'm looking forward to giving it a try. I don't think I've had a salad that has both pasta and lettuce before. I also made some crockpot BBQ chicken last night so tomorrow's dinner is covered as well. I've made BLT pasta salads and they all have called for the lettuce mixed in. Sounds like a weird texture to me and I always chickened out at the last minute and served the pasta salad on a bed of lettuce.   Let us know if it's good when mixed in! We all loved it! It was a very nice summer dinner and I'll definitely make it again.

I've had BLT pasta salad on my menu for the past few weeks, but for various reasons, it keeps getting bumped off. The next time I make it I will mix the lettuce in and hopefully my family will give it the thumbs up also.
