i like that shape-- wish they had smaller bowls in that shape. Would have totally gotten a couple if I had not overloaded on Polish pottery ones while in Poland!

OH! I need the blue. I just replaced my old Corelle everyday dinnerset with peacock, navy and lapis Fiesta a few years ago, and I'm never going back. I need that blue one. *enabler sideye*

Oh yes, I just bought two of those at the Fiestaware factory. One for me and one for my daughter. Got them for $18 each. Am still on vacation but can't wait to try it out. It's a buttercup yellow color. A great size too!

Nah, I just have Ivory rice bowls. Bo-ring. That photo's from Google Images, but you're right: that is a truly stunning color combo.

It works well combined with my Ahwahnee Hotel and Desert Rose dishes (yes, I'm a dish junkie ) and some others. I remember the pictures of yours with Shamrock. So pretty!

So pretty! Good memory! But Vintage Green and/or Post 86 Seamist, not Shamrock. And I'll always take Vintage Ivory over Post 86 Ivory. So much creamier. And alas, so much pricier. I started out with Desert Rose way back when. Used to mix it with Post86 Rose. Now that you mention it, that shade of dirty P86 Ivory would also do the trick. Hmm...where are those boxes of Desert Rose? (Dish nerds unite!) (Off to google Ahwahnee. If it's as cool as that hotel...)

AmeliaBloomer, my first Fiesta discovery was some Rose mugs and rimmed soup bowls to go with my Desert Rose, just because I liked pink. I have a few pieces of vintage Ivory and Green, too. The old colors are so soft and creamy.

AmeliaBloomer (how do you make the names blue??) I had not seen those!! I am in a bit of mourning... the movers lost 12 place settings and some other pieces. Thankfully I had some plates left out but I would like to replace my blues! -There are two ways to "tag" somebody: 1. Type the @ symbol and then ameliabloomer. Squished together - no space between the @ and the name. After you hit Create Post, it turs blue and I'm notified. or 2. Go up to the horizontal bar of colored icons at the top of the post. Click on the blue-shirted person standing next to an @ symbol. You'll get a prompt to enter a username. Start typing in the name (often the name you want will pop up before you're finished) and then just click on the name you want. Again, it'll turn blue after you post. -Rice bowls: love 'em. Much deeper and hold-able-er than those stupid Fiesta place setting bowls and much lighter weight than the Gusto bowl. Plus, they actually kinda' nest when they stack. When I ordered them a few years ago, they were a Dillard's exclusive and they only came in one size. Since then, I know they added a too-cute smaller size, but I'm not sure if they're both still a Dillard's exclusive. Anybody know? (Too bad I can't tag @fiestaowners, huh?) -Your loss: you mean the movers lost all the dishes you bought in Poland?

AmeliaBloomer love your color mix! But your post describing colors is like a foreign language to a non Fiesta person. I didn't expect a learning curve!

AmeliaBloomer love your color mix! But your post describing colors is like a foreign language to a non Fiesta person. I didn't expect a learning curve! Photo with rice bowls is not my own color mix, but I might start taking credit for it! Instead, I collect the five very-first 1930s Vintage colors and I've whittled down to three Post86 (the new line reissued after 1986) colors. Just to confuse matters in last night's post, there's an Ivory in each line, but they look different. There are plenty of people on this forum who have all zillion (okay, 35) P86 colors. There's NO understanding them. ( oaksong and I muddied the waters by discussing Desert Rose, which is not a Fiesta color. It's a Franciscan line you've seen a million times.) ---------------------------------------------------------- So, just to mess with your mind: (the three most recent colors are missing):

AmeliaBloomer ok, I thought Franciscan Desert Rose when I read that, but thought it was coordinated marketing by the companies. One of my mom's best friends had Desert Rose service. i remember a panic when some old Fransican patterns had lead. ETA lead in dishes was a big topic in my !1960s childhood. It could be none of the Fransican dishes had it. Editing to avoid collector angst. It doesn't stop me from picking up odd Franscican atomic designs.

I found out about the Dillards rice bowls from here. These are our most used Fiestaware item - both large and small. Wish they made a larger serving size!
We have them in our colors, white, plum, turquoise, lemongrass and poppy.

grate, that's terrible about the movers losing your items! Moving is bad enough... AmeliaBloomer, that's a great chart! I'll admit to being someone who has each of the post-86 colors and quite a few of the others, too. My love for Fiesta dishes really started when I discovered The Little Round Table blog. The owner, Candy Fagerlin, passed away a few years ago, and it's nice to see her daughter has kept it open. I could look at her table settings all day. It's where I learned about all of the colors, even Raspberry. I don't have the rice bowls. My favorite is the Stacking Cereal Bowl, which is now discontinued. At some point I will probably place an order with Fiesta Factory Direct for these new Salsa/Fruit bowls. So cute!
