Good morning ladies!!! I hope you're all doing well!! I wanted to get up and go running at 6 this morning but dh asked me to wait until he got up in case he needed anything or he was in bad shape from his teeth being out. So I hung around and didn't get out until 7:30ish. By that time, it was pretty warm and I MUST be dehydrated because that run just sucked. My muscles were burning within the first half mile and I pushed on thinking that it'd eventually dissipate...nope, just got worse. I finally called it at a mile and a half. It's better than nothing but I was NOT happy. So now I'm home finishing my coffee getting ready to switch to water. My dh and my BFF's dh are taking all the kids to a baseball game tonight. It's a minor league team that plays in a town about 40 mins from here. While they do that, BFF and I are going to go walk the mall and have dinner. What's everyone up to this weekend?! How do you plan to stay on track with your eating and exercise? Have a great weekend ladies!!!

I've already been out and finished all my Saturday errands. I love getting out before the big weekend crowds. I'm house cleaning and hanging out with DH today. He'll need some help in the yard. He's under doctor's orders to not lift anything over 2 pounds following his carpal tunnel surgery this week, but he's itching to get out in the yard. I'll be there to "supervise." I'm sure most of you know how well husbands LOVE to be supervised. My number ONE thing to accomplish today is to get back on MFP. I've been very delinquent the last 2 weeks and the results aren't pretty. SIGH

Morning!
I slept like a rock last night...I was asleep before DD was--she sleeps in my bed on Fridays and woke me up to say good night.
Up early to meet her dad's girlfriend for his weekend--it's a 2 1/2 hour round trip drive so I missed the partner workout at the gym.
Came home and threw on some running clothes before I could change my mind. It's been 7 weeks since I last did a run like this, and I was actually faster than last time. #thankyoucrossfit
Going to shower and eat and head into work for a few hours. Grocery shopping and maybe dinner with friends later. Not exciting but I'm so exhausted from these first 8 days of school it's fine with me!
Have a great weekend everybody.

Hi y'all! Busy day here today. No workout plans today, but so far...I'm eating well. I have 3 events to attend so hopefully I stay on track. Congrats littlefish on your run - that's awesome tuesdaysgone - MFP helps me too, what is your user name? I'll link up/friend (whatever they call it) with you brandy327 - sorry your run was a struggle, but you did it and that's what counts!! Happy Saturday!

Ugh, I'm having one of those days where I feel uber fat. I feel puffy and everything makes me look luck a sausage. Double ugh. Your body is clearly up to some shenanigans... a hard run for no apparent reason and you're feeling puffy? Let's chalk that up to hormones. Boo though! I HATE days like that. Got a good start to the weekend here - went to WW and an aquafit class. I made a list of thrift shops around the area that have good reviews, so I think I'm going to plot some of them out on a map and go check them out. I had good luck at Goodwill a few weeks ago (although you need tons of patience), and the prices were sooooo good I'm motivated to go look at a few others. I shop at Clothes Mentor a lot too, which is a nice in between - very good shopping experience, but their prices are certainly quite a bit higher than Goodwill type places. I would put Clothes Mentor prices at maybe 70% of what you'd pay for something on the clearance rack at Macy's or on sale at JCP. Still some savings but not always that good. Tonight we are having breakfast for dinner which is my FAVORITE. I'm going to try these Dixie Carb Counter Banana Supreme Pancakes. I picked them up a few weeks back - the gal at the store said they get rave reviews, better than the plain pancakes. I've tried some other low carb pancake recipes online (coconut flour, cream cheese, and so on) and haven't liked any of them. I have Maple Grove Farms Sugar Free Syrup for them, which is pretty good. Basically all chemicals, but for the 3 or 4 times a year I eat pancakes/syrup, I'm okay with it. We'll also have eggs and sausage. I've been pre-tracking my dinner this week and working backwards, which has seemed to work well. I'm trying to do better at sticking to 3 meals a day and 1 snack if needed. I don't think that's a "must," but for me I do find myself never feeling satisfied because I eat 100 calories here, 200 there, and never really get truly full. I'm trying this as an experiment and we'll see how it goes. I also purchased these Wio Smart Buns at the same store. I am pretty sure they are a scam, you guys. Seriously. I've tried to find legitimate information on them and come up pretty empty handed. I talked to the ladies at the shop (which is super reputable and has been in business in Dallas over 25 years), and they said they all were skeptical too but their customers all say they do well with them, and diabetic customers have monitored blood sugar after eating them and don't see a spike like they do with normal buns. This "digestibility corrected" nutritional info seems ridiculous and scammy, but oh well. I figure as long as the rest of my eating is on track and they aren't a regular thing for me (no more than 1 a week), it won't have a negative impact. Which is good because they are DELICIOUS. I don't usually feel like I miss bread, and I eat low-carb/high fiber tortillas, but these buns are amazing. They have to be frozen because there are no preservatives, but they thaw really well. Okay, I better make my shopping plan. It is raining and I always put off going out when it is raining, but it's not going to let up today so I might as well get to it.

Hello! I had a 5K race this morning and I ran my personal best. My goal was 33 minutes and did it in 33:11 - I'm super happy with that. We have a large wild fire in the foothills - everything is covered with ash and the air really isn't good. I did feel the affect during the run as the air was really heavy so to finish with my PB in those conditions was a definite win. I got home, took a nap and now we are heading out to dinner. Tomorrow is a busy day but at least it's starting with a massage I need to squeeze in a grocery shop tomorrow - we need to healthy stuff in the house! It's pretty bleak right now.

Hello ladies!
Dh got home from a trip last night so we had dinner out together and ran some errands. It was nice to spend time with him.
Today has been full on cleaning, laundry, and grocery.
Dh and I went to pick up a treadmill I bought from Craigslist today. A woman in our town was recently pulled into the woods while running. She got away, thank goodness, but I am not super comfortable running alone any longer. No word if it was the same man that followed me earlier in the year.
The treadmill is in the garage. It is the only place I have to put it right now, but since I am used to running in the elements it is fine by me.
Enjoy your evening ladies!

littlefish Dh is going to do some asking around. See if he can figure it out. I ran on the treadmill tonight. It was nice to watch a video on my Ipad, but I can see it getting boring. I also should have researched mph vs pace conversions. I ran much slower than I realized. We are going to clean and overhaul the garage so I have some more room to breathe and a little area. It will be great this winter in the snow. Plus, I like that I can run early in the morning. That will work better with my schedule. Can you tell I am trying to think positively? Lol!

It is the only place I have to put it right now, but since I am used to running in the elements it is fine by me. Enjoy your evening ladies! Isn't it so EFFED UP that we can't even run by ourselves outside? I have an awesome trail that is literally in my backyard. I was running on it pretty regularly. It's tree lined and pretty. I usually brought pepper spray and once when I couldn't find it, a small knife. I was running with a weapon. The time I ran with the knife, there was a man standing on the side of the trail and just sort of looking in the bushes. Do you ever get spidey senses? Mine were tingling. I ran by with the knife OUT. Visible. Like, SPRINTED. It freaked me right the hell out. This was at about 4PM, full daylight, weekday. We shouldn't have to feel like every time we go out alone, someone might try to do something to us, to our bodies. It's so messed up. I mostly run on the treadmill now, unless it's a crowded trail time (like a weekend morning). I'm doing a little trial of an audio service called Skyfit. They're pre-recorded workouts (treadmill, trail running, elliptical, yoga, weights, and more). It's a trainer talking with popular music. So far, they're kind of cool. You can choose from different trainers, different difficulty levels, and different kinds of workouts. It gives some structure to my treadmill work to keep it from being too monotonous. They even have 5K through full marathon training files. You can do a 7-day trial, and then it's $10/month. Not cheap, really, but if you plan to run on the treadmill a lot and do other stuff, it might be worth it. www.skyfitapp.comSaveSave

TankTop - that is frightening! Glad she got away. I run on the treadmill during the week because I get home too late to run outside. It does get boring but I do speed intervals just to make it more enjoyable. I do 1 mile at pace, .25 walk and repeat that for 3 miles. It goes by faster than just running straight. SockMonkey - my treadmill has iFit on it and I love it. It allows me to run via googlmaps in every location in the world. YOU GUYS! We left right after the 5K but I checked the results and I took 2nd in my age division.....WHAT THE HECK! I think the top 2 got medals which means I didn't get my medal. I sent them a message hopefully they didn't give my medal away. I took 19th overall.

My treadmill has iFit, too, but I'm just short enough that when I run, the screen is slightly off in terms of the view and it looks like it's flashing. It's fine for DH. I've been watching the Olympics on the TV in that room while running. Very motivating! Haha!

What does that mean? That the mph on the treadmill isn't the same as what your phone tracks as mph? I think it was just me being dumb. Lol. I set it to 6.0 mph and then was not watching the elapsed time. I got to one mile and realized it was a 10 minute mile. I just need to readjust my thinking. Plus, I think because I was not actually moving in space it was hard for me to "see" how fast or slow I was going. I like to run at a 8:30-9:00 min/mile pace.

Hi again! You all are doing so great, I'm jealous!
We're just returning from a week in the south (think fried chicken, buttered everything and giant portions). I tried to at least keep portions under control and make healthier choices when possible but the scale is gonna groan tomorrow.

Morning ladies!! I'm struggling a bit with my eating this weekend. I did great when I went out with my BFF last night - chose a small lean steak, 1/2 baked potato and broccoli. But then I got home and ate some junk food, which I TOTALLY didn't need. I've been great at resisting all the junk food since January, why am I struggling with resisting it now? I really need to get my focus back to mostly whole foods. Time to menu plan every meal again!!
Today is food prep day - dh is STILL sleeping and it's almost 9. He's been stressed at work (he was the only "peon" invited to a really important merger meeting that's set for Wed so he's been prepping for that) and then having a couple of wisdom teeth taken out on Friday has really taken it out of him. And he's had a really busy weekend so he hasn't really had any time to rest. So he needs the sleep. Anyway, so I need to make some lunches for dh and some egg patties. I REALLY need to get some food prepped for lunches for the kids but that means I need to hit the grocery store first.
It's a busy week coming up here - our last week before school starts. I always get a little weepy feeling at the end of summer because it's another year gone by for the kids. They'll be starting 6th and 8th grades this year. That means only 5 years left with ds in school and 7 with the girls. Weren't they just toddlers??
Well I hope you all have a fantastic Sunday!!

needmysanity, congratulations, that's awesome! brandy327 I made some egg patties this morning too. DD loves them, fortunately, and having them prepped and ready make them super easy to grab and eat. This morning I did a maternity shoot on a nearby lake--on a paddleboard! They turned out amazingly well. Ran some errands and did some food prep, laundry, and went to the gym. My wrist is still bugging me so I did some squats and a tire drag and some core work. Going to relax a bit before making dinner (I have the fixings for steak fajitas marinating in the fridge) and finishing up a few chores before I go get DD from her dad. Hope everyone had a good Sunday!

LOL But I rarely have to throw them out and my dh and ds have been eating them religiously since January. 5 days a week, sometimes 6. I saw your photos and they were AMAZING!!! Great job girlie!!!

I haven't lost any weight in over 2 weeks I think. I am getting frustrated with my lack of progress. Hopefully this week I will do better at the pool and gym. Last week I had to work too much to go. This week I will work at it harder.

Well, vacation is officially over...boo! We got back from Myrtle Beach around 3 p.m. whereupon I immediately crashed on the couch and slept for an hour and a half. I hate driving on 95! So much stop and go traffic for no reason (no accident, no flat tires, nothing...just slowed down...ugh!). Tomorrow, I need to go "balls to the wall" with my planning, prep, and staying the course on this weight-loss thing. The summer has totally derailed me and I need to be done with the crazy. Tomorrow I need to get groceries, get the boys and myself to a doctor's appointment and then prep some lunches for us all. I start back for pre-service days on Tuesday, so I'm going in READY! brandy327 would you mind sharing how you make your egg patties? It sounds like it would be something my kids would enjoy having for breakfast and they're such slow-pokes in the morning having them pre-made would be great! littlefish your photos are GORGEOUS! You have such talent!

I use a small pan I got at Bed Bath & Beyond similar in size to THIS although mine is cast iron. I chop up some of the microwave bacon into small pieces before I get started. And I break 2 eggs into a cup and scramble, pour into the pan, add the chopped bacon to the top, flip once and done. Reheat in the microwave for 15-30 seconds. My ds adds a slice of cheese to his near the end of heating but dh just eats them as is. They both prefer bacon, but I have made them with ham before. Or just plain with no meat.

LOL I don't feel like I'm running a lot...3 days a week, 30 mins so far is my top. Now that I've finished the Couch 2 5K, I want to work on distance and speed. Do you think increasing 5 mins per week is realistic? I have been trying to up my protein. For my dessert when I have it, I've switched to Halo Top ice cream and bought some of the Lenny & Larry's Cookies (just half at a time) to have. The cookie is 8g of protein for half. The Halo Top is also high in protein. Both of which are delicious, btw.

I am also assuming you are still doing some of your regular workouts too. I recently listened to a podcast that was about women marathon runners. I was shocked to hear that most "only" run an average of 20 miles per week. I thought for sure it would be a lot more than that. The Olympic marathon runners train about 120 miles a week, but that is their full time job. I say "only," but dh recently brought it to my attention that there is no such thing as "only." Running anything is more than most people do.

My first goal was to finish the C25K program, my 2nd was to run at least 1 full mile without stopping and my 2nd goal was to run 2 full miles without stopping. I've done all 3 of those. Now I need to figure out a more specific goal...like adding 5 mins per week. I'm hoping that's feasible.
