I'm fairly certain I can't count that high........ I was making a birthday card this morning and became agitated because I was too disorganized. I have a small space with too much stuff, time to purge.

About 140 sets of clear stamps, and 2 shoe boxes full of wood mounted stamps. But I've only been collecting stamps seriously for a couple of years. Before that I only got what I really needed, not whatever I craved.

Last time I counted I had over 750 Stampin Up sets, 250 Acrylic/polymer sets and over 1,000 stand alone wood mounts. That was about 8 years ago. My goal in retirement is to at some point actually make an inventory of all my stamps. I suspect that it will be a life long task.

No way am I going to count them. I have hundreds of sets and yet I still end up seeing a new set I just have to add to my collection.

Note I'm a scrapper who incorporates stamping, not a stamper, cardmaker, or mixed media artist. If counting each wood-mounted rubber & clear stamp individually, I have a relatively modest collection of 100+.

For six years I did a card making class at an assisted living home. Every month I helped them make three cards. I could justify any stamp purchase because My Ladies would love it! My stamp collection grew tremendously during those years!

I've never used Evernote but love the idea of cataloging my stamps. Does anyone happen to have a link to some instructions for an Evernote newbie about how to do this?

Clear stamps: 1 zip-case of small stamps. 1 zip-case of large stamps/stamp packs. 1 zip-case of sentiments. 1 zip-case half full, plus half a shoe-box of Christmas stamps. 3 little tins of random stamps that happen to fit in the Maya Road tins! 1 drawer of wooden stamps, about 1.5 layers, including 3 sets of alphas. A handful of foam stamps that I need to pitch.
Actually that's more than I thought, but I've used and love most of them. I am only just at the stage where I'm thinking I might need to separate the sentiments from the rest of the packs because I forget what sentiments I have.

I have a small amount of wood mounted stamps that I never use anymore (except for the wintery background stamp that I use almost every December). In December 2012 I started my sub with Studio Calico, and that's when my stamp collection really started growing. Now, I have at least 50 stamp sets. Plus, I subscribe to Ali Edwards stamp set now.

Come on over - I'm in San Diego! I don't have a camera or I would post a few pictures. I did clear out all my duplicates which filled 2 large bankers boxes along with a couple dozen sets I didn't really like when my niece came to visit from NC last November as she has been wanting to learn to stamp for years. Gave me a bit of room, but then I moved into a much smaller place in January and lost an entire bedroom. I think I need to teach another couple of nieces to stamp as I am stacked almost to the ceiling and I'm afraid I just keep unpacking more boxes of stamps every time I look at what's still in storage. My big weakness is Christmas and cat stamps. I have limited myself to just buying those for the past couple of years. I really have slowed down my purchasing of stamps & supplies since I retired as I just can't afford it any more and I truly do have enough to last a lifetime. I am beginning to understand why people get the downsizing bug as they age. If I ever get enough posts to make it to the BST board I will probably take some time to sort through and offer a lot of the ones I know I won't use as just pay shipping costs RAK's or trades. If a stamper visits, they never leave my house without some stamps as a lovely parting gift! LOL

about 75-100 wood mount, I think (I haven't counted) and about a dozen acrylic sets (some are the tiny $1 sets though) - I just purged about a dozen today. They all fit in one drawer along with my ink pads (6 or 7)

Wow, how long did it take you to log everything? I'm assuming you had quite a few before you got Evernote. I need to do this with mine. Did you just pull out a bunch each day and start logging them all in? And the final question, are the rest of your supplies this organized? I also have more than I need. More than any one person needs. And what did I just do? I went to a huge sale at the Emerson/Sizzix headquarters and they had embossing folders with matching stamps. And dies with matching stamps. OMG. I couldn't help myself. Although on the way home, I had major buyers remorse. My mom called and asked me what I got. I told her I got way too much. She laughed at me and said, you have no small children. you're single. you are home all day. This is your one big outlet. Enjoy. Thanks, Mom. Although, I still may be listing some of the stuff for sale. Either here or on Ebay. I fear I bought some duplicate dies. I also bought a lot for my sister at her request, but now she may not want them. I'm not taking the financial hit on her stuff. After looking up some of the retail prices on line, I paid less than half price on a lot of those items. There has to be someone that wants them for that great price, right?

If a stamper visits, they never leave my house without some stamps as a lovely parting gift! LOL Well, I'm in Orange County, probably an hour from you, and if I didn't have so many stamps of my own, I'd offer to come help you with your downsizing efforts. I am now motivated to start logging mine into an Evernote account too. When you get up there in how many you have, you can't remember some of them. Although, I seem to frequently be looking for a specific stamp that I can't find when I want it. That makes me cranky. And once I decide to use a specific stamp, no other will do. I don't have that happen as often now that I bring a batch of stamps downstairs to the kitchen when friends come over to play. When we played upstairs, things would get placed somewhere that wasn't it's normal home and I might not find it for weeks. Usually not until I decide to do a major overhaul of my things and move stuff from one area to another. I'm a sucker for Christmas and Halloween stamps. I don't know why the Halloween ones. Have I ever sent a Halloween card to anyone? Nope. I have made cute paper bag books and I've decorated props for office decorating. I used to try to package up a couple of candies into little clear baggies with cute Halloween header tops on them. Not this year!

Not this year! This is too funny because I have more Halloween stamps than I can ever use and I don't usually send out Halloween cards. They are just so cute and the ideas are there...so I keep buying LOL I don't have all that many Halloween photos to scrapbook either so it's not like I could ever use them on layouts even.
