I thought Badlands National Park was just amazing! We also visited Devil's Tower and Mt. Rushmore in the spring.

I LOVE Fort Jefferson off the coast of Key West. It's in the Dry Tortugas National Park.

So many I've loved. It's hard to surpass the beauty of Haleakala this past June at sunset and then on the back side a few days later at Oheo Gulch on the Road to Hana.

I love them all! We have visited 31 of the 59 and will add another this fall. My favorites are Glacier, Zion, Yellowstone, and Acadia. ETA: I just recounted and we've actually visited 34 instead of 31. I fogot about adding a couple last year and thought Sequoia and King's Canyon counted as 1 park.

I am partial to Everglades National Park (the Ten Thousand Islands side) but we go to the beach at Ft. Desoto all the time.

I will also say I cannot believe that North Cascades National Park is one of the least visited parks (4th from bottom). It is stunning and quiet. I loved it.
We plan on going to the least visited National Park (in continental US) next year: Isle Royale.

Love the National Parks, as well as other entities like national forests, seashores, monuments, etc. I've visited: Acadia, Yosemite, King's Canyon, Sequoia, Arches, Canyonlands, Zion, Bryce, Grand Tetons, Yellowstone, Joshua Tree, Death Valley, Grand Canyon, Channel Islands, Glacier, Badlands, Smoky Mountains, Rocky Mountains, and other national lands (my favorite including Wind River Range in WY and Escalante in UT). Hard to pick favorites - all of our trips have been fantastic. Castle Geyser in Yellowstone: Balanced Rock in Arches: Jenny Lake Sunrise and Mormon Row Sunrise in Grand Tetons: The Racetrack and Eureka Sand dunes in Death Valley: Campsite at Tanner Beach in the Grand Canyon: And cheating a little bit with other national entities: Alstrom Point overlooking Lake Powell in Glen Canyon National Recreation Area: Buckskin Gulch in Vermillion Cliffs National Monument: Wind River Range (National Forest land) in WY (this picture was actually on the parks pass a few years ago): More Wind River Range:

pudgygroundhog, your pics are amazing! everyone's are! I am jealous. I would love to go, but honestly, it's intimidating to me - getting out there, figuring out what to see, etc. I didn't even know there were only 51 national parks.

Don't be intimidated by the parks - it's easy to plan trips, straightforward to travel there, and so worth it! The one tricky thing is that some of the parks that are more remote and you want lodging in the park - you have to plan ahead to get a reservation. The National Park Service has a website for each park that has all the necessary info - planning your visit, when to go, lodging in park, what to do, etc. They also usually have a list that says "if you have one/two/three days in the park, here's a sample itinerary". Tripadvisor has great forums for some of the more popular national parks and it's easy to find guidebooks and online information. It takes some time to do research, but it's not hard to do. Heck, I'll plan a trip for you! lol.

I think Yellowstone would be my favorite--it is just mind-blowing. I also really loved Acadia in Maine. I'm not sure how many parks I've been to in total.

You will love Isle Royale! My sister and I both had the great fun of going with our 6th grade classes (separately) when we lived in Michigan. Hope to one day get my kids there, too.

I'm rather partial to Yosemite since its on my back yard. I'm there quite often especially during the Spring and Fall.
We are hiking in Sequoia this weekend. It's not my favorite NP mostly because the roads are very winding - I get motion sickness even when I'm driving but it's still enjoyable once I'm up there.

Grand Tetons Great thread. I didn't know there were so many peas who love the national parks! There's 59 National Parks....Pinnacles in Ca.was added in 2013. There are now 413 other sites managed by the NPS. President Obama just added another one in Maine for the 100th anniversary. There are "super fans" who want to visit all of them! www.chicagotribune.com/lifestyles/travel/ct-visit-every-national-park-site-travel-0825-20160824-story.htmlWe have been to 31 parks. Some of you are way ahead of us. We went to Yellowstone and Grand Teton in May...our 2nd visit.

Glacier National Park - specifically The Sun Road Going to the Sun Highway -- I love Glacier, too! Yellowstone, too, because it's so close, and so much less crowded in winter. Link to list of National ParksI've been to just 14 -- lots more to see!
