I was just thinking about posting this yesterday! I work on a computer all day and don't want to mess with the computer on my "play time".

Yes, I dislike the whole process. I keep telling myself I need to do it more often to make it less of a pain.

Yes. I hate the whole process. DH and DD wanted to go ATVing with friends next week which would require three nights in a hotel. Me? Not so much, but they are also planning on doing some other things that sounded fun. DH said, "What will you do in a boring hotel room all day while we're out on the trail?" I told him I would bring my laptop and force myself to edit and resize photos that I want to get printed for scrapping. The hotel has wi-fi, so hopefully I'll be able to upload them to Costco while I'm at it so by the time we get home I can just swing by there and pick them up. Locking myself in a small room by myself is about what it takes to work on it these days. Ugh.

Yeah, it's just a hassle for me. I'm always so glad when I finally place an order, but "pre-plotting" what size I want each photo and trying to anticipate what will will best, making sure I don't accidentally order duplicates (made even harder with Persnickety Print's asinine interface), waiting for then to ship, etc all dampens my mood about it. And while I do print about 35% at home, my quality isn't to the standard of professional printing and I do wonder how long those photos will last with fading and ink variations vs a professional printer. It's just a pain overall, but again....would rather have them printed - and scrapped - than in my computer!

Yes, I need to start ordering every month instead of every 3-4 months. I just placed a big order not that long ago and then forgot something so I placed another order this morning. The 2nd order went so much faster since it only had 2 weeks of photos in it! Now I just need to go to Costco to pick it up.

I feel your pain. I just ordered almost all of 2012 to print the other night. Took a couple of sessions to make an album of all the 2012 pics I want to scrap in Picasa. Then I went thru the album to edit, crop them all etc. then to export the folder to my docs. Then upload to Costco. There were a couple of photos from Yosemite I wanted in 12x8. And I did several collages in Picasa. I still need to do an order of all my sons football and track photos. Those are going to be scrapped PL style. I do print some photos at home on my Epson or Selphy. But the majority for cost I order out. It can be very time consuming considering the old fashioned way, drop off a roll of film, order 2 of everything and hope for the best :-)

I swear, having to "prep" pictures for printing is the WORST! I sat at my computer for about three hours a day last week, and didn't even get halfway done. I'm hoping to get an order done and ordered by the end of this week, but if I don't start feeling better soon, I don't see that happening. :-(. And I agree, it does cut into "play time." I would much rather be scrapping, or creating anything, than taking the time to edit and order my pics. But, I guess we wouldn't have anything to scrap if we didn't print our pics. So happy I'm not the only one who loathes time spent on printing pics.

Back when it was all film based photos I was quite prolific in my scrapbooking as we didn't have a choice, that was the photo you had and you worked around the photo. These days though there is so much that you can do editing wise the choices are limitless, but all this editing takes time. I found some programs that help ease the process for me but it takes a couple of nights of me sorting and editing till I am happy, I find it all a bit tedious.

I used to hate the whole process. After taking Stacy Julian's Finding Photo Freedom class and sorta mastering Lightroom, I now find the process has shifted from being completely loathsome to merely a tad bit annoying. The worst part for me is the uploading because I use Persnickety Prints exclusively. Their platform isn't the most user friendly but the results and the customer service make it totally worth it. Also if anyone is considering trying Lightroom for the first time then I would encourage you to check out Wilna Furstenberg's video workshop on her blog or the tutorials on Lynda.com.

I don't find the process too bad - but I don't do a lot of editing and also print at home. I'm doing a monthly approach to PL so try and do one month's photos at a time - maybe 50-80?

I've been using My Digital Scraproom to quickly organize, rate and tag my photos so that is a help. When I decide which group of pics I want to scrap, I open up that category and pull up only the "good" ones to edit and export for printing. It's still pretty tedious, but at least my categories are labeled and I can scroll through and see all the pics together and compare photos side by side instead of having to open up dated folder after dated folder wondering which one has the pics I want and which photo is the better one for my page which definitely helps me with the weeding out process. I can also do basic editing, make collages, add some fun effects, etc. in that software too so unless a photo needs some major touching up it can be a one stop shop. It's still my least favorite part of the scrapping process though.

Yes, it's a hassle.
For the last ten years of my life (more than the entire time I've scrapbooked) I've worked in a photolab. I could print any of my photos, any size I wanted, whenever I wanted and get at least 50% off. It was great. I switched jobs last year and now I have to upload them for printing, pick them up, get disappointed because they aren't printed well, realize I should have printed a different size and start the process all over. It's a pain. I bought a Selphy printer and I do prefer using that now so at least I don't have to keep driving around going through that process. It also gives me control of my printing back so my pictures aren't too light or dark or orange. I will just reprint until I am happy. Expensive, but worth it!

Yes! By the time I choose, edit, crop, etc, I feel like all my time is taken up for craftiness! I think I need to just let it go, but with all the editing options on the phone (which is where I take all my pictures) it seems like it takes forever!

I hate dealing with printing photos, prepping them... I just get so bored with it since that's not the fun part for me. I dunno how digiscrappers do it. I work on a computer all day -- don't want to do it to relax too.
Never been comfortable sending off my photos to have them printed online, plus then they'd all be the same size, and you have to prep them anyway. Arg.

I don't hate it, I hate having to go get them for some reason. I have all these pages I've started to lay out and have started figuring what sizes my pictures need to be, but that's where it ends. I don't know why it's such a big deal as my husband is home all day so he would happily go get them. Think I need to sit down tonight and get them ordered so they can be picked up this weekend and get started on those pages

Oh yeah, I hate the pick photos part! I print at home, and like another pea says, something is always an issue. No paper, no ink, printer acting weird, need to find the camera card, don't like any of my pics, or I just can't decide what size pic to use. It's always something! The playing with pretty paper and embellies part is much more fun for me.

Yes, I miss the days of dropping my film off and picking the prints up later that day. No editing! No computer backup! Ugh. I hate it!

I steadfastly refuse to bow to any pressure to "keep up" An envelop or box of photos doesn't signal "being behind" it is an exciting envelop or box of inspiration and potential.
