I have been using my Versafine pad so much lately that I was thinking I need to buy a reinker for it. How long do these pads last? Which do you prefer, buying the reinker or just replace the entire pad for cheap.

My Versafine Black Onyx pad is my most frequently used pad. Like used on every card. That said, my pad is probably 6+ years old. And I haven't reinked it yet.
When it goes dry, I'll make the decision on new pad vs. reinker. And that decision will be based on the shape of the pad at that time. Right now it's still in excellent shape.

I echo the above post, if the pad is in good condition, buy the inker! The inker will re-ink your pad many times over and usually costs less than the original ink pad. I have my original Encore also made by Imagine (aka Tsukineko) from 20 years ago and have just re-inked a few of them. I am biased though . . . I'm on their design team. However with that said I've had a few colorbox pigment ink pads go bad.
