How many of you have actually used the PL style to scrap years of photos in a quick get it done way?
I do scrap this way (when I actually scrap), but I've gotten so far behind that I know rationally I could get a ton of photos scrapbooked quickly and easily if I'd keep it simple and just do it. Even I can get caught up in looking for the perfect protector and journaling card vs. just moving along.

I'm thinking of doing this! I just ordered photos to test it--I scanned the originals & am going to use copies because I want to try it out without ruining the originals, but then part of thinks, what do I do with the originals? If I scanned them, should I use the originals as long as I don't cut them up? I was born in '83 so it's not like I'm cutting up antique photos even if I DO cut them up (which I don't plan on), and they're scanned in, but still...

Have been vaguely considering this for loads of photos I have from the 90s. Alternatively, I might just scan the photos so i have digi copies of everything.

I'm actually talking about photos from the past 2-3 years so not that old, but I'm getting behind by the day.
I've never felt the need to scan any photos - even the really old ones with no negatives. I figure they are safe in their albums and I don't have to worry about finding extra storage space.

I just ordered some PL stuff to try this for some pictures that need to get out of the boxes and into albums.

My friend just did 9 years worth of photos PL style after seeing my albums. She did it in about 6 months and was so excited to take them to a family reunion!

This is exactly what I use PL for. I've had a home daycare for over 20yrs, so I'm using it to scrap these photos. I'm incorporating the PL pages into my 12 12 pages that I've already scraped of them. I have so many cute picks of just random days that I was unsure how to scrap 12x12. I love doing it this way!

Yes. I started doing it this summer bc I really have no interest in scrapping every.single.event so PL allows me to put pics in an album with some embellishments but more importantly journaling so to identify people and places in the pics.

I started doing PL in 2013. I have been planning out which pics to use to make an album of 2009-2012 (I met my husband in 2009).

I'm strongly considering this for my grad school pics. Thanks for the inspiration! Getting them sorted by year is a challenge for me though.

I scrap this way. I was able to get 2012 - Oct. 2013 done fairly quickly. I did make a few regular pages for those special pictures or ones I over looked. I generally only use Design A and D sheet protectors. I looked at the pictures on my computer, chose what I wanted printed and picked the sheet protector that worked best. I printed outlines of the Desgin A & D and wrote on them where the pictures would be placed. So, when the photos came, it was easy to place everything in the album. I'm a very simple scrapper. The most I do is add some alpha stickers and a few diecuts.

I'm definitely thinking of doing a few unscrapped years PL style. Just need to finish the album I'm working on currently!

I have been thinking about this, too, but I feel like I always have a project (or two or three) going so I don't carve out time to look through my old stuff. I've got two boys who I haven't finished baby books for and our regular PL...maybe I should just finish up the baby books and start on my old photos.

I've done it that way for years, more like embellished photo albums. I throw in a 12x12 page every so often. I don't understand the need to scan as the photos slide right in the 4x6 slots. If I crop the picture to 3x4, it's usually because I have a certain amount of extraneous background that isn't relevant to the picture.

I am trying to do this with old photos and it's going more slowly than I had originally anticipated, mostly because a lot of my old pictures are 3x5, so I can't just slip them into pockets without backing them. So I am still picking papers and mounting photos. Anyone else having this issue?

I've done this.....what worked for me was putting photos in and then going back later to add filler cards.
