I've just finished watching the first episode of the new drama Victoria based on the life of Queen Victoria. It's looking really good so far.

I just watched a special on PBS, "I Miss Downton Abbey" and they mentioned this Victoria show during the pledge breaks. I didn't realize it was on already!
ETA: Oh, I see it hasn't started here yet.

Okay, have I been hanging around Two Peas for too long? My first thought when I saw "new drama, Victoria" was "who the heck is Victoria? and what drama happened here that I missed?" sheesh... eta: looks like the OP changed the thread title, lol. Looks like a good show. SaveSave

Sorry, I should have been more specific in my title. But for any Downton Abbey fans this is worth watching.
I've changed the title 😀

You've got quite a few months to wait I'm afraid. It's not due to be aired in the US on Masterpiece until early 2017.

I agree it does look good so far but I've also read that there are some historical inaccuracies in it. But it is a TV drama so they'll probably get away with it

I hope it fills the void of Downton's departure. I know Victoria reigned for a while, so they should have some good material.

I set a reminder on my phone a few weeks ago. :-)

Can't wait to watch. Queen Victoria seems like she was quite the women in her day. When we took the tour of Buckingham 4-5 years ago the side tour was of Queen Victoria's life. She really fell in love with Albert (so it seems) and also was a very good artist.

I don't want to say what as it would be a spoiler before you all see it but it's about certain characters..... their intentions and their relationships Some do see these drama production as being, in every way, accurate. That is not always the case KWIM.

I'll look forward to watching this whenever it comes to the U.S. Because of 'Downton Abbey', I became very interested in English history, and read many books about it, including a great book all about Queen Victoria.

It was really good, and at the end it said how devoted Queen Victoria was to Albert. I won't spoil it by saying anymore. It was very well made and I really enjoyed it. Can't wait to see this UK drama!
