This goes along with the oldies but goodies thread.
What stamps did you just have to have then found out you never or rarely ever used?
Alphabet stamp sets, I have all sorts from tiny to huge but other than an occasional letter here or there they just sit. I guess I find it tedious to fuss with all those tiny letters, line them up straight then put them away again. I have never used my Prima Finnabar background stamps but just had to have them too. (sigh)

Too many to count. I'm trying to be smarter about my shopping. Although I love fall and leaves and pumpkins, I don't make any fall cards. So I don't need to buy any more fall stamps. So far so good this year.
Next will come the temptation of Christmas stamps and dies. Since I make holiday cards for residents of nursing homes, I'll try to keep that in mind as I see all the pretty new things. In theory.

They are in the 4th, 5th, and 6th drawers down. And I'm going to Heirloom next week ... I may need a bigger studio.

Holiday stamps of all kinds. I use seasonal stamps but Ugh, I just can't with holiday stamps. They just don't inspire me at all. Don't laugh when I see holiday stamps I feel pressured to make holiday cards. What is funny I like to make holiday cards. I don't know just stamping Santa on a card does not make me feel creative or into the holidays. Drawing Santa on a card and stamping snowflakes I feel creative. Strangest creative block ever.
Remember the Bella craze? I had to have a Bella. Then I got a Bella & I couldn't use her. I felt like seeing Bella's all over the stamping community was making me feel pressured to use her in the trendy way. She kept smiling at me in her way over the top smile and making me feel grumpy. I gave her away to one who would love her.
Bella least taught me I don't like trendy stamping. That was a great thing to learn. I felt bad for my poor Bella stamp. She was a good stamp and didn't deserve the side eye.

Plenty of things, although I gave most of them away long ago. Once you pass the item on to someone else the bad feelings go away. In all things, I've realized that I only feel that dread and guilt in the pit of my stomach when I SEE the item sitting around being wasted. It taunts me. But then I give the thing away and barely ever think of it again. (But hopefully the lesson sticks.) I also have alpha stamps that I never use. Quite a few stamps that I never use, although I'm trying. And plenty of digital goodies that got used once and then I forgot about them.

I am doing this right now giving away things that cause bad feelings. I have items in my room that taunt me with guilt and dread. For example I told my husband the other day that I don't like Distress Ink's. He was insistent that I needed Distress Inks. I could do so much with them was his thinking. It was very sweet. I don't like Distress Ink's. The inks are great. I recommend them. Not great for me, not my style. My sweet husband said he would take them. The big packs of colored cardstock. I had to have it. Thinking of all the colors I could die cut with. Newbie mistake & sadly I am an expert at die cutting. Even buying those big packs of cardstock that day I would steer a new crafter away from them. There I was buying it. I like my individual color that I can tailor to my projects. What is so sad about this situation is that I do a lot of other crafts. Paper crafting is the only one I had to have it and now regret it purchases.

Love them, but never use them!

Masks. I have grand ideas in the store and then never take them out of their packs.I have a whole case of them.
Tags. I always know just how I'll use them ... until I get home.
Paints. Grand ideas in the store, come home and never paint.
I had to have those Martha Stewart punch all over the page things. Three of them. And cartridges to make shaped circle punches. But you use them once on a page and you're good for the next 10 years.
REcently I was jonesing for one of those portable airbrush thingie. Stalked prices until I got one low enough. Watched a gazillion You Tube videos. Took it out of the box, botched one project, put it back. Done with the airbrush thingie.

I'm sorry to say that half my stash is stuff I've had to have but never use!! Some stuff I shake my head at and wonder what the heck I was thinking ... But for the most part, even though I haven't had the opportunity to use a lot of things I've collected, I know I'm not parting with this stuff cause hopefully one day I'll find a way to use it!
