akathy's What's for dinner thread. 9/2

Dinner was tomato soup and garlic bread. I'll make waffles later, I have some sour cream in the fridge I need to use and waffles are perfect for that. With homemade strawberry jam. I get hungry just thinking about it.

Invitation to a friend's for bbq or smoked brisket. I made three bean salad this morning to take along.

I have some chicken breasts that will most likely become chicken fajitas.

I will be child-free this weekend and I am really thinking about just ordering a large pizza tonight and eating off of it all weekend. I dunno, I almost never order pizza anymore. I'm too cheap and it's too much fat!

I ate lunchtime with my ex-boss and had fish and chips.

Hubby is yoyo tonight

If I'm hungry later I may have a couple of rounds of toast and butter

Most likely Chipotle. I'm preparing a few things for a BBQ we are hosting tomorrow afternoon, so DH gets to pick an easy dinner tonight.

I met dh at the grocery store when I got out of work. We bought 6 lbs of hotdogs, 30 pre made hamburger patties, 4 lbs of hamburg for something he's making and 7 lbs of boneless chicken breast.  I trimmed, cut up and marinated most of the chicken. I have 5 lbs of potatoes cooking and 10 eggs in the Instant Pot. I need to bake a pan of brownies and make a yummy dessert with lemon pudding and cream cheese. We're having about 25 people here for an open house/house warming tomorrow at 2:00. And we planned nothing for dinner! I think it will be Chinese take out!

KelleeM - make that 26 people. It sounds yummy and I am happy for you that you are fully into your new home!

We are having fried egg, bacon, pesto sandwiches on homemade sourdough bread. I really want ice cream, but it's turned cloudy and cool so I might make a pudding cake.

My day was going very well until....I went and told my elderly neighbors that there was a skunk sleeping under a large hosta in my yard next to the fence we share, and that they might want to keep their dog away from that area of their yard.

I wish the old man would get it through his thick skull that 1) the skunk cannot get from my yard to theirs, 2) the skunk does not live in my yard and is just sleeping here during the day and will leave when it gets dark, 3) harassing a skunk is unwise. He keeps doing things to annoy the skunk and I'm the one that keeps getting sprayed. *sigh*

Next time, I'm not going to be nice and if their yappy little dog gets sprayed, so be it!

I know none of you care about all of that, so....

Dinner tonight will be shredded mexican chicken in flour tortillas, mexican rice from a package, and tortilla chips and salsa. It's not what I had planned but my day hasn't gone anything like I had planned either.

SO very glad it's finally Friday night. I think we'll be having loaded baked potatoes tonight. I'm more inclined to serve bake potatoes now that I do them in the IP. This meal is minimum fuss and muss.

OMG. I was just telling my friend that I have been craving pizza like nobody's business and that I could make a large pizza last all weekend.

I never hardly ever order pizza. And I will be a country bumpkin hickgirl and admit that what I am craving is Pizza Hut's pan pizza. 

We're having rotisserie chicken and leftover Greek lentil salad. It's been such a crappy week that the unhealthy side of me wants to have 2 gin and tonics and a big-ass bowl of ice cream and call it a day.
