I will be child-free this weekend and I am really thinking about just ordering a large pizza tonight and eating off of it all weekend. I dunno, I almost never order pizza anymore. I'm too cheap and it's too much fat! OMG. I was just telling my friend that I have been craving pizza like nobody's business and that I could make a large pizza last all weekend. I never hardly ever order pizza. And I will be a country bumpkin hickgirl and admit that what I am craving is Pizza Hut's pan pizza. My gourmet-type tastes run to Round Table skinny crust. @@

Friday night of a holiday weekend......choices, choices, choices....Casey's pizza, A & W papa burger, or go home and actually fix food.....I am thinking Casey's pizza, all the other people in this thread talking about the good pizza they can get down the street is making me hungry for pizza and Casey's is it for 30 miles so I am going to go for that. KelleeM happy house warming, it sounds fun. I hope everybody else enjoys their pizza night as much as I am going to.

He has to have gotten some of the smell on him, but since the skunk in in my yard, I keep getting the brunt of it. *sigh* Fortunately, the skunk is just spraying warning shots and hasn't given me a full out spray, but I keep having to wash all of my clothes, including socks, bra, and underwear and I'm running out of dry ones! They say that your sense of smell diminishes with age. Maybe that's why the smell isn't bothering him. I'd stay inside and leave the skunk alone, but the man is in his 80's and has a heart condition. I would feel horrible if something happened to him so I keep going out to try to convince him to leave the animal alone. So far his harassing has included poking the pole from his pool skimmer through the fence, a hose, throwing things, and a ladder. I'm not sure what he had planned with the ladder. tuesdaysgone , I think this is one of those situations that's funnier when it happens to someone else. I'm sure I'll find it funny in a few days. When I no longer smell like I've spent hours at the business end of a skunk.

We had marinated skirt steak from Costco over the weekend. It wasn't very tender so it didn't go over as well as the burgers that we also served. So today I put the leftover sliced beef in the crockpot with some chicken broth, and now that it's tender i'm going to throw in some BBQ sauce for a sliced BBQ beef. I also boiled some of those little potatoes as a side. Hope this is better than the original grilled steak...

Been up to my elbows in 3 dozen ears of late corn today... shucking, blanching, slicing off the cob, bagging, freezing... so I'm thinking something easy for dinner - maybe scrambled eggs, muffins, etc.

KelleeM, wishing you a really fun bbcue. Trixie Bender, you've done all that you can to stop your neighbor. At this point I'd let Pepe do his thing w/your neighbor and leave it alone. Otherwise, you'll run out of laundry soap.

That is what we were supposed to have tonight, in fact, but are having it tomorrow instead. We haven't had a bad one yet.

I'm going to miominmio 's house for HOMEADE strawberry jam and sour cream on top of waffles !!! YUM!! Then into KelleeM 's house for her lemon pudding/ cream cheese dessert ! My 3rd stop will be at desertgirl 's for HOMEADE sourdough bread !!??!! Omg, sourdough is my FAVE, and even though we have some wonderful bakeries, no one makes it as sour as I like! The BEST we've ever had was in San Fransisco! Many times, I'm tempted to order some from Amazon, but it's a bit expen$ive, PLUS----no guarantee it'll be as good as the kind we had P.S....aside from the privately-owned, yummmmy bakeries I've tried, PLUS, 'Whole Foods' and 'Panera' ----all their sourdoughs are GOOD, but....not enough! If any of you know of a recipe that has a lot of the extra SOURness that I love--- (I wish I remembered the names of the places where we ate it in San Fransisco!)-----please let me know---THANK YOU!

Mine was so terrible that even the second time around, braising it in the crockpot in brother for 3 hours, it was stringy and chewy. What the heck! SaveSave

SaveSaveWe always use the method on the package, which is to grill it for 12 minutes and slice it thin. I don't think thks is a meat meant for long cooking, kind of like flank steak isn't.
