One note about holding "real" books. I have carpal tunnel, and it used to bother me to hold a book. Heck it even bothered me to hold my Kindle. I purchased a wonderful micro bead pillow that I sit on my lap. My Kindle or my book are propped up in the micro bead pillow so I don't have to told it. I do just set my left hand by the book to hold it open though but I no longer suffer by grasping something to hold it open. And yes, I travel with this pillow too. Love it. My mom bought one and now does the same thing after seeing me do it. I also put my iPad on it. Works great as I sit here.

Thanks for your input on this. I never buy books. I am a library user (since we live in the country, we get our books for 6 weeks.!) but sometimes I am on a wait list forever, especially if it's a new book. Once in awhile I get a book on cd. I was thinking about a subscription to audible...but I'd rather read. I asked about the e readers etc. & was told I would need to go to town & take a class . Too lazy to do that. I think I will ask For a Paperwhite for Christmas. Do you think I will still be able to borrow books from the library for the Paperwhite? ( I feel I am late to this game! ) I probably get 75% of my reading from the library on my Paperwhite. I also will buy directly from Amazon if it's under my personal $8 threshold. And if you have a smartphone you can audio books from the library too!

It has seriously been 8 years since I read a real book other than text books. I have given away all real books. I love my Kindle! On my third one, none have gone bad, just updated and passed on the others and they are still loved by the owners.

I just got home from vacation where I took two bags of real books. I love the print media. I have an early generation Nook but I just don't care for it. Print ... that is the way for me!

I love my kindle and borrow most of my books from the library. I love it as I don't have to drive to the library to pick up or return and they are never late fees . I have been trying to read a few real books that I have had for a while have tapped the page a few times to "turn" the page lol. I like real books but am hoping to read and purge quite a few that my MIL gave me or that I won on blogs years ago. They take up so much space. I love being able to make the font larger if I want, or clicking on a word to get a definition with a kindle. The only bad point is not being able to give them away or lend them out. I really didn't think I would be a convert but like others I hate large new release books because they are too heavy and bulky.
