I know we don't always get to listen to what we want to listen to while in the car, but if you had your way, what would it be?
eta: I prefer silence, unless it's a very long drive. Then I listen to talk radio or a podcast.

I prefer classical music in the car. I find it calming and not too distracting.

My DH and I have similar music tastes for the most part so we listen to Spotify. He drives more than I do though so he tends to get his way a little more

Audiobooks or music on the radio. When the radio ads get too much I might search out my own music.

I always have NPR on in my van, no matter what is on-news, quiz shows, classical music, opera, other programing, whatever.

I usually listen to a local talk radio 24/7 news station if I'm alone. If DD is with me, we listen to music. If DH is with me, we usually just talk.

On my way to work in the morning I need loud classic rock to get me going. On the way home I listen to NPR or an audiobook. So both.

Music
Or I'm good with silence.
Talk in the car, whether it's talk radio, audiobook, whatever, makes me super car sick. I can't handle it.

I voted for music and talk which I'm presuming includes news. I listen to all kinds of music, usually on Sirius. Everything from EDM to classical. I also listen to BBC, CBC and Sirius FC (soccer).

I cannot listen to talk such as talk radio, audiobooks, etc. while I'm in the car. It causes intense headache and nausea for me.

NPR or other talk radio typically. But if nothing good is on those stations, then music.
Funny, I like the silence at home, but in the car I prefer some background noise.

I listen to music on Sirius XM. For three months they had a limited engagement Billy Joel channel. I've misses it terribly since it ended in June. Now I listen to pop usually. Or the Yankee game.

Our/My public radio station has gone to mostly news/talk programming. It has only been in the last couple of years and I was SO happy! I drive a dinosaur of a car that doesn't have a single bell or whistle that allows me to take advantage of current technology...so no music from an ipod, no sirus radio, no pandora/spotify, nothing. So the 24/7 programming on the public radio station is my favorite listening choice.
There are a couple of radio stations that play okish music that I sometimes listen to as well, but generally when I do want to listen to music, I drive my family crazy because I am serious station flipper/radio scanner. LOL

Flitting around town it's usually the Contemporary Christian station, the local station or a CD when there's a commercial.
For long drives, it's my iPod.

Nothing. I find recorded books and music to be terribly distracting and so I think it would be irresponsible of me to listen while driving.
