Fun thread!
The only album kit I've put together recently would be December Daily album kits that I make from my stash. I grab an album (8x8 for DD), a paper pad, and then I start going through whatever stickers, stamps, dies, etc I already have and include the items that match. Doesn't mean I'll definitely use them, but gives me a point to jump off of.
So far I have:
Album 6x6 paper pad sequins baker's twine stamped & paper punched images Stamped & die cut images Stickles Cardstock
I will want to pick up enamel dots, and holiday stickers, but won't know exactly what I want until I see them.
I also make page kits all the time. If I know I have a specific photo/group of pics that I will be scrapping, I gather up coordinating (usually themed) supplies and put it in a page protector. Then when I have the photo printed, I have a starting point to scrap it.

I usually keep an Iris box for this purpose. I did do a couple big kits but felt overwhelmed. So I try to keep it for just 3-4 los. I collect 5-6 pp and pull out coordinating scraps from my bin. Then I'll grab assorted embellies (I have them in 4 little baskets ready to go. Next I'll go to my sticker bin and look for things that might go. If I can't find anything, I'll make a mental note to use my Portrait to cut a title. I usually add coordinating washi, twine, maybe buttons. I seem to work best having some direction and kits seem to help that

Also, when scraps get out of hand, I kit up some scraps only kits and get use out of them as well

I have been opening a kit club kit, making 4 to 5 layouts from it and moving on as I get bored with it. My plan is to continue to do that for a while, then eventually add to the kits from my stash or merging coordinating used kits to try and keep them fresh. I hope some day to have maybe 10 or 20 kits that I can choose from depending on what will go with my picture to scrap. I think this is perfect! I love having different kits to use and when I do, I put them back on the shelf. I love adding new goodies or merging kits. It keeps them fresh! I'll confess something...recently I was in my scrapbook room (I use it like a store and grab a kit to use wherever the family is or make kits) and did a rough estimate of all of my kits. I believe I have around 500...that's embarrassing! I blame my LOVE for Tuesday Morning, warehouse boxes and LSS scrapbook yard sales! Most are in the 2 1/2 gallon bags or in a collection bag if I haven't overloaded it. Some are in boxes the size of an iris box. Most are ready to grab and go, but some aren't quite done. I make multiple kits at once in steps. So there are some that have the paper and embellishments, but may not have an alpha yet. There are many I haven't gotten to yet, but it's fun looking for that perfect kit! I made over 1000 pages last year, so it really works for me. Too bad I've made under 100 this year! Holy productivity Batman! 1000 pages is amazing! Way to go!

I am thinking I need to do ginormous kits too. Never occurred to me I could. Ginormous kits would make me happy. I think they would make you happy!

I have a lot of paper pads and matching embellishments. That is great, but they are so big and thick and take up a lot of room. That is an issue for me. I mean so many. On the other hand, I have lots of 3 sheets of patterned paper and I could pair with cardstock and some embellishments and make a kit that way, too. I have to decide what I am going to do tomorrow as tomorrow is another clean out day. I might go do some work on it tonight even. I keep most of my kits on shelves and some are more bulky than others. I also use milk crates. Both ways keep the bagged kits standing.

I'm just hoping to do one at all this year, really.

Holy productivity Batman! 1000 pages is amazing! Way to go! Half of that were for memorial albums. My MIL died suddenly a year ago and I made albums of her life for each of her kids (7) and my FIL for Christmas. They were beautiful and they brought tears to many faces. So worth the three month time crunch!

I'm just hoping to do one at all this year, really. I have done 8x8 for all of the December Daily books I've made and it's a great size! I think it helps make what could be a huge undertaking more doable. I like that I can use photos up to full page size (and sometimes I've done entire pages digitally with PSE and just printed the whole layout as an 8x8 photo) so I don't feel like I'm forced to sacrifice photo quality or size. It's big enough to get everything on the page but small enough to not be completely overwhelming.

Hope you are feeling better soon I love making kits (and buying them, of course). I finally feel like I have it down to a science *for me*. My kits are for one layout - usually 2-page spreads since I am more of an event scrapper and usually have a lot of photos. Kits include: -Min. 4 sheets of solid CS (more if I'm uncertain which I'll use or I plan to mat a lot) -Min 3 sheets of patterned paper -Thickers if I'm not cutting my title with my silhouette -Coordinating embellishments - I tend to skimp on what I include since I tote along a box of "extra embellishments" to a crop that I may pull from, otherwise I just make a note and add it when I get home -My photos When I'm done the leftover supplies are kept in the same bag I had them packed in and I take and sort them back into my stash when I get back home. If I have to finish or add something to the layout, I also put it back into the bag and add a post-it for what is left. When I come home from a crop I can't do anything in my craft room until all my crop stuff is put away so I don't forget about the partially finished layouts and any kits I didn't start I just keep kitted until next time. Best thing, this really limits my choices so I tend to actually get these layouts done, rather than endlessly picking through my stash. Pretty much all this for me. For embellishments I try to include a strip of "something"- Washi tape, ribbon, trim, border element, etc, along with any other embellishments that catches my fancy, along with something to journal on, if I have something. I have my embellishments sorted by type (borders, titles, journaling, flowers, etc and try to grab a few things from each theme if appropriate). Some kits I pack heavy, some light. I also include a sketch or photo of an inspiration layout, if there is one. I also include photos. My kits are built around specific photos.
I only scrapbook at two weekend crops a year, anymore and What I do slightly different than above is, when I am done with a layout I put all my cardstock and unused full sheets of pattern paper one 12x12 plastic bag, scraps in another and I bring a box to put unused embellishments in. I keep all those handy and that is what I pull from should a page need a little something.
Then when I get home, instead of sorting everything leftover back, I set it aside for the next "kit making" session. I start my kits with these leftovers and round them out with stuff from my stash.

I've been working on hand lettering. I quit incorporating brush skills into that and hope to do that separately --maybe next year.

a baseball kit. My youngest DD17 wants to go to all the stadiums. So I have put together kits for these albums. Have you seen this kit at craftysteals? Thanks for sharing your process! I have a hard time making kits and using them if I don't have photos first. I can make it work easier if there is a theme like a holiday or a sport. Your link is helpful in reminding me how to put a page together. I often do cardstock and paper and forget about the extras. One thing that's been helpful for all pages is putting all those words and phrases together in one iris bin. I got the idea from Chinagirl828. I used some quotes from a SEI spring line that worked for my son's birthday!

I only have alphas from that brand, but I love them. I get the 2 1/2 gallon bags at the grocery store, dollar tree, etc. They are with the sandwich, quart, etc bags. They changed the brand at the dollar tree and the new ones are harder to get stuff in and out of, but you still get five bags.

I make GINORMOUS December Daily kits. I have mine in an iris paper holder thing now and I can barely shut it. Ha. I started with a color theme - I'm using pale teal, red, a lighter color green, Kraft, white and gold or silver (haven't decided which yet). First I went through my Christmas collections and pulled themed papers in these colors. Then I pulled coordinating pieces by color and some scraps too. I added Christmas embellishments that coordinate, and lots of snowflake items! I even put dies and punches in the box, because I don't typically use them throughout the year, so I wasn't missing having them put away with the kit. I have my Christmas stash sorted by theme, so this was pretty easy and fun to do! Im excited to dig into it Also by doing this and shopping my stash, I have no desire to purchase a DD kit elsewhere. None. My homemade kit is fun and shopping my stash definitelu cured my desire to shop! Lol

When I make page kits, I usually just add a few sheets PP, cardstock (usually neutral color like Kraft), a sketch or LO idea, photos and some coordinating embellishments. Sometimes Thickers too.
I try not to put too many bits in these kits bc I've found they are more of a pain than a help. If I want to add enamel dots, I will pull those as I'm making the LO, etc. Otherwise I found I'm annoyed putting so much stuff away that I didn't end up using on the page.
I'm usually just scrapping at home so it's easy to pull the extras in as I scrap. If I take these kits to a crop, I bring common items like enamel dots, a mix of alphas, etc. to add to them as needed. It works pretty well!
