We went away for the weekend and he was using my better phone to play Pokemon go. Last night, before going to bed, I changed his avatar completely!! He probably won't notice until after football practice tonight. I do minor programming at work and am fairly tech-savvy, but he THINKS I am completely technology-challenged. I think it's better this way. (For him to think I don't know.)
But emojis, yes, that's a quick win. I'm going to start using them more.

you can elevate your emoji game with bitmojis. they're the best!! you make a little avatar of yourself and there's a bitmoji for every reason, basically..... like this one ....

I've been playing the game to build my emoji keyboard for a couple weeks. DS sent me a whiny text the other day about doing dishes at work and not having his iPod with him. I sent back the Cinderella emoji. Then Elsa. Then Ariel. He told me I'm not funny. I don't know. It gave me the giggles. I did find that on my phone in the google play store. I'll try and hope it works on my phone.

If I'm not either teasing, harassing, embarrassing, mocking, irritating, joking, ribbing, bothering, tormenting, disturbing, provoking, tickling, exasperating, vexing, kidding, taunting, badgering, pestering, making fun of or some combination thereof, they would probably check my pulse. The further they roll their eyes back into their head the more successful it feels. It's all good though, they give as well as they get. At least once a day dose of playfulness required.

Yes. Annoying teenagers was my mission in life. I could always count on an eye roll when I would ask a question about 'the tweeter' or 'the snapchat' or 'the google.' Life is so much more fun with a sense of humor and I got lucky with kid that, for the most part, were funny along with me.

I like to toss out assorted trendy words or phrases, like "bae" at DD. She will then very seriously tell me I am not allowed to use that word. :-) My current favorite is "slay" Oh I bet you slayed that audition. But more horrifying is if I use it in relation to myself. I had a client meeting today. in air quotes "slayed it" It is not possible for her to roll your eyes more! Bonus points if I get to do it in front of the car pool!

I was a single Mom for 10 years. Thank goodness it was during those trying teenage years when he was driving me crazy. I retaliated by pointing out random strangers when he was in the car and saying, "Oh look, that could be your new Daddy." Of course, any talk of me being married to one of my choices sent him into apoplexy.

When my boys are in a pissy mood I will roll at the windows down (and then do the window lock so they cant roll them up) and then blast 80's rock and sing and dance along. All at the stop light of the major intersection of town. They hate it. 10 points extra if you do it in front of school!

I am sort of known for taking selfies with my 16 year old dd's friends and /or their parents when I am out and about. I like to text them to her.
I also speak in instagram names. Hey, I saw OMGitsbanana at the store with kbaby.

This weekend DS17 was doing something with DH and said "that'll do" in a somewhat English accent. I just had to repeat back "that'll do, pig, that'll do", and he tries to tell me that I said it wrong since it's supposed to be donkey and not pig. Um no, Shrek pulled that line from Babe, not the other way around. LOL I did not know that! DSO uses "That'll do donkey, that'll do" ALL the time. Neither of us have seen Babe so we assumed it was a Shrek original. I could always count on an eye roll when I would ask a question about 'the tweeter' or 'the snapchat' or 'the google. Haha, that sounds like my 74yo dad (sorry to tell you that! ) He is forever trying to annoy my teenage DD by saying "Are you looking at Face Ache again?" Or "Can you look that up on eBay for me" (instead of Google).

Hmmm, so many! I break into song when she unintentionally speaks a line or the title of a song. I do this, too. Drives my kids nuts!

I was tweeting with my kids one day and used the word "fleek"....not only did they both cringe, but many of their friends responded to me and said "Mrs. Spoon.....just no!" So I can annoy other kids as well. It's a talent...
I was at Panera once and my son's friend was there. I had never met her, but knew what she looked like cuz she was on American Idol. I introduced myself and we talked for a bit...then told her to text my son that we were having lunch together!! I got an immediate text asking who I was with and why!! LOVE IT!

Whenever I pick my 14 year old DS from anywhere and am waiting in the car for him, I lean forward as he's walking toward me, give him a big smile, and wave like a crazy woman. He's so easy to annoy! So fun!

I bow down to your experience and abilities in the teenager annoying stakes, I am taking notes.
We have just entered the teenage years but annoyingly, she is being totally loveable and reasonable at the moment! I think she is doing it to confuse me.

So, teen moms, have you reached Master Status yet? You know, the mere threat of your showing up somewhere and doing something embarrassing drives them to cut their crappy behavior?
DS is required to text when he reaches his destinations since getting his own car. He was having trouble remembering to do so when band camp started this summer. I told him if he missed a text again, I would show up. I would get right next to him on the football field and check him over to make sure he'd arrived safely. Then, I'd cheer from the sidelines for him. Go, DS! Toot that horn! He knew his band director, father of five, would support me. Guess who hasn't forgotten to check in since?

I mean, not all the time, but sometimes when that "teenage" attitude comes out, I find it a great time to add to their annoyance. My DS was kind enough to tell me over the weekend that I need to stop texting him with emojis, it was annoying. I got a new phone 2 weeks ago and it came with all the new emojis....now that he has told me that, today when he was especially grumpy getting up for an early class, I was kind enough to send him a message with 8 emojis in it! HA, HA - all in good fun. He acts like he is annoyed but deep inside I know he thinks his Mom is funny. What are some fun things you have done (all in fun) to annoy your teenager?! This sounds exactly like me and my kids

Hahaha. All of you ladies. I love this thread! I am learning from the best! I am going to download those bitmojis and Disney ones. Since I volunteered through my kids elementary and middle school; I knew all of the kids. So basically just showing up by 6th grade was enough. Last spring we lived in an area where I had to drive. So when my oldest wouldn't bring something to the office, I got out of the car looking like I just had rolled out of bed, (literally hair a nightmare, no makeup) went into the office and on the way out; made sure I walked right next to him and his friends and said "Bye honey, I love you so much!" To which I received an eye roll and a low, "Mooooommmm, stttoooopppp." Also asking my oldest if he has met any girls he likes; gets a "Mom stop" with the looking around horror look on his face.

DD was driving the other day so I dropped down the passenger mirror and primped myself. Then I pulled out my phone and started taking a bunch of fake selfies and saying how my makeup was "fleekish" (I intentionally use their "words" incorrectly just for added annoyance). Then I channel surfed the radio turning up songs that I liked (they were awful!) and sang along. She had no where to go for those 15 minutes.

I have three teenage boys. ANYTHING I do annoys them. Lol
If I'm texting them and they don't answer I start blowing them up with bitmojis. Love me some bitmojis!!! My fave is the "I know you read that" one!
My 14 year olds usually don't have a problem hugging me, but my 16yo has been working long hours as a lifeguard at the waterpark this summer and comes home grumpy and doesn't want to hug me good night. I like to hug him and say "let me mother you!" when he's like this. HaHa! Gotta let them know they aren't fully grown just yet.

My hubby always tells our girls that's why we had them - for our entertainment!
I love the Bitmojis and am going to check that out!
My girls are 15 and 20 now. The 20 year old - she is harder to annoy. First, she lives 500+ miles away at college. And when she is around, I guess she is away so much, that the annoying-ness of us doesn't annoy her as much LOL. She just rolls with it.
Now the 15 year old - she's still easy to annoy. She *REALLY* loves when her dad dances in public! LOL
