I mean, not all the time, but sometimes when that "teenage" attitude comes out, I find it a great time to add to their annoyance. My DS was kind enough to tell me over the weekend that I need to stop texting him with emojis, it was annoying. I got a new phone 2 weeks ago and it came with all the new emojis....now that he has told me that, today when he was especially grumpy getting up for an early class, I was kind enough to send him a message with 8 emojis in it! HA, HA - all in good fun. He acts like he is annoyed but deep inside I know he thinks his Mom is funny. What are some fun things you have done (all in fun) to annoy your teenager?!

Hmmm, so many! I break into song when she unintentionally speaks a line or the title of a song.

I do. I like to act all over-affectionate in public, it mortifies him ( "him" being 16 yr old DS). I had to drop something off for my older son, who is at college this year, and horrors, I kissed older DS on the cheek. DS16: "What are you DOING" while looking around frantically. He does have a sense of humor though. When I do it at home, he always has a funny response. Last night he was walking down the hall and asked me a question, all normal. Then I opened my arms wide, and said "come to mama, boo boo!" and he threw himself into the bathroom and slammed the door. I know it doesn't SOUND funny, but the visual was hysterical. Head first into the bathroom with perfect timing. He's a pretty laid back kid, when no one is watching.

Ha ha. It's become my hobby. Today I cornered him by the frig while he was trying to get some ice, and said, "Come here and give me some sugah!" in my best southern accent. His expression was so horrified, I said, "OK, noogies then!" He was all, "M-o-o-o-o-m, I just want some ice." I said, "You only have choice A or choice B."

I too like to add random emojis to texts, but my boys don't mention it since that would require acknowledgement of the act.
And movies...both dh and I tend to quote movies lines if they say something. This weekend DS17 was doing something with DH and said "that'll do" in a somewhat English accent. I just had to repeat back "that'll do, pig, that'll do", and he tries to tell me that I said it wrong since it's supposed to be donkey and not pig. Um no, Shrek pulled that line from Babe, not the other way around. LOL

I like to toss out assorted trendy words or phrases, like "bae" at DD. She will then very seriously tell me I am not allowed to use that word. :-)

I use trendy language too, maybe with a hand sign or dance move if we're at home. I space out occurrences, I don't want to lose impact- and then not get the eye rolls and groans in return.

Why yes I do. I yell up the stairs for the girl to take a shower. She needs to be reminded or it does not get done! She does not respond. So I yell it repeatedly until I get an annoyed response. She just got a cell phone, so now I text her take a shower, take a shower, take a shower.... I heard her the other day talking to herself about my texts. "Geez! that's excessive!". I'm also another person who will use trendy language I do NOT like to make it become a word that is no longer cool because it was said by mom.

There's a new Disney emoji app. You could download that and have a whole new emoji keyboard to annoy him with.

I use the language too. Sometimes I use song lines.
I used to randomly say, "I wish...." and then follow it with "could be like the cool kids" because they hated the song. Funny thing is, I found a Muppets version and now they like it.

When my boys are in a pissy mood I will roll at the windows down (and then do the window lock so they cant roll them up) and then blast 80's rock and sing and dance along. All at the stop light of the major intersection of town.
They hate it.

I love my son an awful lot not unlike all the rest of the Peas. My son has ZERO sense of humour. I mean he is totally humourless. You can't crack a joke, say something obviously funny, tease him about anything and even if it's true he will still throw a fit. That man child is so humourless it's like talking to a grandfather clock. Stoic and unfeeling.
He is very cuddly and affectionate. He loves hugs and kisses and says I love you all the time. We also have a secret handshake or hold hands if he needs to feel loved. He just has no sense of humour.

There's a new Disney emoji app. You could download that and have a whole new emoji keyboard to annoy him with. I've been playing the game to build my emoji keyboard for a couple weeks. DS sent me a whiny text the other day about doing dishes at work and not having his iPod with him. I sent back the Cinderella emoji. Then Elsa. Then Ariel. He told me I'm not funny. I don't know. It gave me the giggles.
