I'm prepping for PL catch up at a 3-day crop. I only use my phone to take photos. The PL app is a great way to figure out my layouts. I can print them out and use as a guide for printing my pictures (size/orientation).

That's a great idea. Can you import other journal cards into the app?

That's a great idea. Can you import other journal cards into the app? Only the PL cards in the app. I didn't buy any, they are all the free ones. I only use them for placeholders. I mostly use this to figure out placement so I know what pictures go where and what size to print. I'm sure I will end up making changes when I do the actual pages. I was doing this manually on paper but it found this easier to do while watching tv.

I love using the app for mini books for gifts. I make an album in my photos for that person, then make up my pages and at the end add my journaling and then print. So easy and it's something I can do while watching tv with my family.
I'm still a purist for my regular scrapbooks but the app makes it easy to put together nice gifts for others.

That's a really smart idea for those who use their phone for the majority of their PL pics! It's a little more paper and ink to get these guides but if it helps you save on photo paper and heavy ink jobs because you've managed to get everything figured out, it's a win-win.
Off-topic: double thumbs up for the week 23 tribute I spotted.

That's a great idea. Can you import other journal cards into the app? You can upload your other journal cards to a drop box account and then access them like pictures. You just have to make sure you are putting the right size and orientation into the correct boxes.

Great idea! The slowest process for me is usually trying to sort out which photo I want to put where and which sized I need.
Does the PL app offer a lot of different options for layout configurations?

sleepingbooty -if you have an iPad, you can save on the ink and look at it while working. lovestocreate - the last time I played with the app, they included some layouts in the app and other layout configurations were available as in-app purchases. They use to have bundles of configurations and I think it was for every PP they sell. I don't know if you can buy individual designs (say, Design H only). lisacharlotte and LisaDV - Thank you both for your suggestions. I'm going to have to try them out this weekend. I've got lots of journal cards that I'd love to import in case I decide to go lazy and print the whole layout as a 12x12 then chop it up to fit into my pockets. Saves time having to print pics and cards separately.

Great ideas! I don't do many PL spreads now, but it's certainly good to have the option. And I love your idea of using it for gifts @juliehenry4!

I ordered three boxes of page protectors and didn't pay close attention. I wanted the 12 x 12's and bought the PL ones instead. I am forced to do them now!

The layouts almost look 5x7...but it seems that you have several on a page.....

I printed on 8.5x11 copy paper. I used the "wallet" template to print multiple on one page (9 per page).
