I have a Cuisinart Electric Pressure cooker and love it. The pressure doesn't get as high as stovetop models, but it does everything I need it to.

I have just a plain old Presto stovetop model that's got to be 30 years old! Works great, we use it a lot. The "newfangled" electric ones sound like they'd be really handy!

I have an Emeril electric one. Love it, but haven't touched it in a few months. Seems like a winter thing for me. I grill a lot this time of the year.

I am wondering how ground beef turns out. Do you need one with a browning setting? Most of the electric ones have a sauté setting that you use to brown or sear meat and for some recipes to cook some of the veggies before then putting on the lid and using the pressure feature. I've made the Mediterranean Brisket recipe that came in the pamphlet with my Cuisinart, and there is quite a bit of cooking before you actually put the cut of meat in and pressure cook the whole thing. It is amazing and worth it though! My holiday briskets are NEVER dry now - they are so tender out of the pressure cooker.

I just got a Secura electric pressure cooker from Amazon the other day. I used the slow cook feature and it worked well, although I wasn't sure if it ha different temperature settings like my regular crock pot does. Will have to experiment with that more before I get rid of the old one. Hopefully I like that feature since that is the main reason I chose it over the Cuisinart. I haven't used the pressure cook setting yet. It is a nice looking machine. I had a little trouble figuring out how to put the lid on but I think I have that figured out now.
The other day QVC had the Cuisinart on easy pay.

I looked at these some time ago but wasn't sure and didn't know anyone with one. So I read this post and thought it sounded good so googled the pressure cooker with a view to ordering one - and found that now in the UK they are listed as currently unavailable with no details of whether, or if, more stock would become available and they have now completely disappeared off the Cuisinart UK site!! Should have made up my mind a lot quicker!!

I bought mine from QVC several years ago. Mine is strictly a pressure cooker; it doesn't have the browning or slow cooking capability. I do love it! When I see these posts I always reply to buy bigger than you think you would ever need. Sometimes I wish I had two.

I have an 8qt Wolfgang Puck. Got it last fall, and I use it quite a bit. Right now I use it to cook rice, and corn on the cob. I have used it for amazing hard boiled eggs, a flan, soups and sauces, and I tried a pulled pork recipe as well!.

I had always been afraid of pressure cookers and never thought that I would own one. Well the Enabler Peas got ahold of me and I caved. I don't know I have lived so long without one. I love my Cuisinart. If you have a coupon from Bed Bath and & Beyond, you can save 20%. Oh, and this one does have the browning feature.

Electric, only way to go! Have one I bought from QVC...it's really heavy and that is my only complaint. Had a stove top one previously and do not miss the hissing and jiggle noise one bit!

I love my pressure cooker and use it a lot! Mine is not electric, though I am looking into those. Mine is a T-fal pressure cooker that I bought from Sears probably 20 years ago. I love that it has a time that somehow magically starts when the pressure hits the right temperature. I have had no problems with it at all.

I am wondering how ground beef turns out. Do you need one with a browning setting? Unless you want to dirty another pan on the stove, I would get one that does if you're looking at an electric one. Mine is not electric and I do sear the outside of the meat loafs before I cook them. I used 1 lb of ground beef and my regular meatloaf recipe. Posted below. I divined the meatloaf mix into two parts and I make them into squared off rectangles. Then, you can nicely brown each side. I put a little oil in the bottom, put to on the stove on high to sear/ brown. Once done, I wipe out the bottom of the cooker pot, add 1 cup I beef broth I made with beef base, I use the insert pan / metal stand inside to keep the loaves out of the broth. Sit the loaves inside the insert pan, seal it up and 22 mins later we have awesome, moist meatloaf! Then, I add some flour and water to the leftover broth in the bottom to make gravy! styxgirl's meatloaf 1lb ground beef 1 sleeve crushed crackers 1/2 tsp Lawrys season salt (I don't really measure this) 1/2 tsp Head Country season salt (don't measure this either) 1 tsp Italian seasoning (") Chopped onion to taste 2 eggs Ketchup - couple of squirts Mix altogether and cook like above. (Put ketchup on top before cooking) We eat this with mashed potatoes, corn and gravy.

I also have the Instant Pot and adore it.
The brown/saute function is a must-have IMO.

Mine is an electric Cuisinart with a removable pan. It has a browning and a simmer setting in addition to the pressure cooker. The browning is great to use to brown your meat or veggies prior to pressure cooking. The simmer setting is great for thickening sauces or adding cheese when the dish is done pressure cooking. Love my pressure cooker!

I have an old fashioned one that I rarely use. But every time I remember to use it I wonder why I don't use it more often because I love how fast everything cooks (esp dried beans and meat).

I have the cuisinart too, it was the one that was recommended by Cooks Illustrated and I got it from Costco online. I love it, I have ordered another pot insert from amazon that is not non stick as I don't like nonstick stuff. I love it!
