I am just worried they are going to make a scrapbooking club and ask me to teach it! But let's not go there shall we? The car is out of the garage now and I have requested help moving my stuff out to the garage so we will see when that happens. Then I can get back to purging.

elannah- I don't have access to the garage either. I am having to put everything all over my floor in my room. The reason I don't have access to the garage because that is my husband's art studio which he is also in the process of purging and remodeling. Talk about timing, lol. I got through most of my paper stock this week. I did get rid of a lot. I am doing stamps right now. I seem to have a House Mouse problem. I have like over eighty. I could never part with them. Next is all my paper ephemera. I have things going back to the 1800's. That is going to be fun, not really. I wanted to get rid of a lot of my storage systems. They are so not me. I am realizing I need those storage systems. Have way too many archival items in my room. The storage system I have works and my things are protected. I feel a bit frustrated and down about that. I am not willing to spend thousands of dollars on a storage system that I spent only $200 on ten years ago. I am still looking for ideas. I love my husband but he keeps bugging me about organizing his areas. I am like "I can't even organize mine!". It is so funny and frustrating. Sad part is that I don't own a lot. I use to teach decluttering and organizing. This is the first time I feel stymied.

I have about 10 things that need to get done today and no one can confirm what they want to do. I could say eff it all and just do my own thing. I need a list. I really need a list of what I want to get done. That would help my cause I think.

elannah- I did say eff it all tonight, lol. I told my husband I am working on purging Sun-Thur and taking the weekend off. I am just going to shut down if I don't. I also really do need to rest because I am recuperating from a bad illness this Summer. I don't feel so stymied now. I also realized my storage systems are not an issue. After I finished posting here last night I was working in my room and did realize my storage system do work and are protecting my items. I would like to change some to a style that fits me more. I found the problem in my room. It is the furniture. I have a lot of it. I have expensive pieces too and I am just in there freaking out about it because the furniture does not work, makes me feel boxed in and is actually hard to maneuver around. I was letting guilt of expensive furniture freak me out. I hope this helps somebody who might be going through the same thing. Maybe, it is not our stash but our furniture. I keep thinking about the expense of all this. The furniture has to go. Does anybody have any ideas on how to store Duck Tape. I have over 100 rolls. Yes, I do Duck Tape crafts. No, I am not paring down. I thought maybe somebody had some ideas how to store it. I would be grateful.

I think I would put them in a drawer lined up on edge so the colors and patterns can be seen

elannah- I love the hoop idea. That would be so pretty. I think the tape would make it heavy unless I could find a metal hoop of some kind. I am thinking macrame hoops. I love your idea.
mich0222- I have my Duck tape in drawers right now. It is a nice system but the drawers take up a lot of room. My husband suggested a tape drawer for all my different tapes. Right now I have all my tapes- Duck, Washi, Deco in three different drawer systems.

I have been avoiding the purge the last week. I need to get back at it. There is lots of work left to be done. I need DS to move the containers for me. I can't lift them and he is strong, but he just got back from Japan and has been too busy visiting friends and stuff. I have asked him 3x to help me.
Today, God willing, I will do a couple of hours on it. There are spiders down there and while I am not afraid of spiders I don't want to get bitten!!!!

Six big Rubbermaid totes have left the building! Yay! They were heavy, too. There is still all that paper that needs to go into something to be donated but I don't know what yet. I might have to get another container or two. Paper is heavy. Very heavy as we all know. There is a 1' stack that needs to go. Then there might be odds and ends. Then i can clean up.
I will take a photo of what i am going to donate.

elannah- It sounds like you made a big dent.
I have a good idea where I am going with my room now. It is not my stash. It is my furniture. I think purging can slow down even though I do want to get rid of a few things because I have definitely outgrown them.
I look forward to going back in my room tomorrow. I was going to work on it tonight but I was busy coming up with a plan instead of going in there and getting frustrated.
I was watching a video last night. The girl said she makes a bag of projects she is working on. Then that way she only had to get out her supplies and put her supply boxes back. I was so inspired by that. I am definitely going to buy a nice scrapbook bag next weekend and do this. Confession time- This will be my first scrapbooking bag. I always put my projects in 12x12 boxes. That system is definitely not working any more. This way I can have for example my coloring tools I want for a coloring book page I am working on. My journal tools all in one bag. I love more stash more options in my room. When working on a project I like to have everything together and not looking for options. I hope that might inspire somebody too that might be having some issues.

It was very anxiety provoking for sure. I mean there WAS I love that word WAS so much stuff to go through, but between BF and I, we were able to get through tons of it. She told me to get rid of some more of it, too so that makes me happy. I don't feel bad about getting rid of it either. I know how I scrap now and it's page kits I buy commercially and I love them. That's what I need to focus on. I can buy a bit of paper to do random layouts as needed but only with a purpose. Not just "paper".

I went to Michaels and bought 5 Iris containers for paper. That took all of 10 minutes to fill them all. I still need another couple but I may put some paper in based on manufacturer instead and put it in big Ziplock bags instead. I am thinking. I threw out about 50 plastic bags, I recycled tons of paper that I received like invoices and stuff with no identifying information and recycled some plastic containers. I got fed up and had to come upstairs. I wanted to put all the give away paper in something but I didn't have anything in the house to put it all in. I bought 4 containers for it today but they are out in the car and I am in the house. I will go out and get them tomorrow I guess. It took all day procrastinating to do this much. I wish this were an easier process than it is. I also hope I can put away all the stuff that I have kept. The alternative is not too palatable and I want to keep some stuff. Tomorrow is another day. Will keep at it again.

I need more iris container's too. This is a big roadblock in redoing my room. I don't live close to Michael's. The thought of driving up there for storage just is something I don't want to do. When I use to organize my room in my old home I could run up to Michael's six times a day. Now, I have to be creative with storage. I like that but it is frustrating at the same time too. I live closer to Hobby Lobby but I think their storage is not the greatest and a bit overpriced. Michael's is so great about running frequent sales on storage and they have a variety of storage things.
Purging for me tonight is my junk journal supplies. I know my style now. I am getting rid of all the things that are no longer my style or things I will not use. Since I got the envelope board I don't need to keep my junk mail envelopes for example.
