Take out.
It's day 3 of Hop2's strike so once again I am not cooking. DH doesn't understand why I am annoyed, even though I explained it to him.
I'm going to try to be 'on strike' at least thru Monday. Wish me luck.
PS Leanne don't cook. You shouldn't have to with a migraine. That is what started my strike. Hope you feel better soon!

Hope you feel better, leannec! Since the LSU game starts at 4:30 here I'm thinking I'll throw some ribs in the oven, make a fruit salad and a green salad for DH and me. DS is going to dinner with a friend and then to see Sully.

leannec, Please go lay down in a quiet dark room. Dinner is so not your problem today. Wishing you quick relief. hop2, you stick to your guns. No cooking for you tonight. Last night dh ate soup, but neither of the boys touched it. My sick ds wasn't hungry and my other ds had a big lunch at work. So, guess what's leftover for tonight? Have a great day everyone.

I agree I know my whopper of a headache Wednesday was heat related. My head hurt so much I was nauseous. It's hot and humid here and I don't want to move at all.

First a report on my 'test dish' last night - Chinese garlic eggplant. It was delicious - a little on the salty side, but it had soy and oyster sauce in it, so I guess to be expected. I think I am going to look for lower salt soy next time I'm at the Asian grocer. I had the leftovers for lunch today, and it was still good - even more spicy as the chillies had matured a bit.
Today I'm going to have the leftovers of my 'chilli' from Thursday - I always make too much for just me. I think I'll make pasta to go with it, as I've been eating rice so much this week.

I've been cooking up some things for next week - breakfast burritos, beef and bean burritos, sausage and potato soup, chicken taco filling in the IP. Also making a West Virginia specialty, pepperoni rolls.
By the time I'm done, I probably won't want to fix dinner. So we'll either eat something I've already made or take out Panda Express.

leannec, ugh, feel better! And don't cook. I bought a roast the other night and am going to stick it in the crock pot in a couple of hours with some celery and onions. I will add potatoes and carrots. I will make a salad, maybe with ranch dressing, and find some nice, crusty bread and call it good. I think my ever-ravenous children will be happy. As an aside, my son wanted a sandwich from Sprouts last p.m. There is an Indian restaurant right next door, so I thought I would try curry from there. Big. Mistake. First of all, everything, including the rice, came separately. That made my meal cost almost twice as much as Thai takeout. Ugh. And then, I didn't even care for the flavors. I have to say that the rice by itself was delicious. I would also eat Indian food again as I think I likely just needed to order something else. But, yeah, I will *not be ordering from that particular restaurant again. Lisa

Dh is playing in a softball tournament today. The start was delayed by two hours, so I'm not sure when he will be home. The plan is to have BLT s tonight with corn on the cob, but if dh won't be home, I will figure out something else.

I have no energy today. Dh's oldest is here painting our laundry room/storage area. It's not an easy job. His wife is away so he'll be staying for dinner. Since no one went grocery shopping yet dinner will be pizza. I'm working on finding the energy to bake cookies. I had a 2 hour nap already. Work has been busy and I get up at 3:30 am. I haven't slept great lately...I think it's time for a new cpap machine. Mine is old and acting odd. We just reached our deductible on our medical for the year so I think this is a good time to do it!

It's take out night at my house Since I don't have to cook, I'm spending my time making a menu for next week. I keep making one, but life keeps getting in the way of my plans. It really needs to stop doing that. It's annoying. I don't know what it is about any pain that's above the neck, but it always seems so much worse than pain elsewhere in the body. I hope all of you with headaches feel better soon. Good luck with your strike, hop2 ! ETA: KelleeM, If you feel you must bake cookies, go with bar cookies. Much quicker and easier.

Just me and 3 dogs home this weekend. So I am making food I like. It will either be chicken and dumplings or a croque monsieur. Whatever is not for dinner will be for lunch. With leftovers tomorrow!

leannec I hope you feel better soon! And peajays too! I have absolutely no idea what dinner was today! My cold has developed into sinusitis, and I feel like cr@p honestly. Slept from 4 pm to 8 pm, so DH probably fed DD some sandwiches.

I'm sorry for all of you who aren't feeling well Trixie Bender I found some energy and mixed a double batch of chocolate chip cookies. Whether or not they all get baked today is another matter! I have to bake some without walnuts because dd isn't a fan of nuts. One more reason for a big freezer...frozen cookie dough!!!

Hello from the road to my RP dinner tribeswomen! We are in the Midwest now and headed to Colorado. I have no idea what we are eating, but I will say the cookies lucyg posted have sustained us the whole way. Well, along with egg salad lol. So sad to hear of pains. The heat just wears everyone out. Hoping for rest and less stress for all. Thanks for the thread.

Get well wishes to those who not feeling well today.
I made hamburger stroganoff in the IP and it was very good. It was easy and had a very creamy smooth texture. The thing I love best about the IP? Clean up! Just one pot to wash out. Back to watching college football!
