I was working on a layout this evening that is vacation themed (hot/beachy) and I realised that I have a serious lack of beachy themed icon stamps. I have plenty of stamps with phrases -in fact far too many - but none with smallish stamps of sunglasses, umbrella's,sun tan lotion, sand castles, buckets and spades, drinks, golf carts, ice creams, ice lollies, fries, starfish, shells, floaties etc etc. I think its time I inventoried what I do have so that my next purchase plugs the holes in my collection rather than add the 100th alpha/phrase stamp!
I'm curious what do you not have?

Like you, I had a LOT of phrases. When I started stamping it was all about the phrases. But now that I like making cards too, I've been investing in florals, geometrics, icons, etc. Just no critters. Do not like the critter stamps. But roses, peonies, birds, trees - I need more of these.

I don't have any enamel dots. I can't get past how expensive they are. I may have to order from aliexpress.com if I ever want to try them.

I don't have working knowledge of my Silhouette. I am frustrated with it because I look at the software and I can't make heads or tails of it. I need someone to walk me through it and I know I am to blame for it, but I just can't do it myself.

I have no thickers. I have a few sets of very generic alpha dies instead. It usually works out ok.

I don't have a die machine! Somehow I missed that boat back in the day and I don't plan to get on the boat now. 😯 so tempting though!

I don't have enough 'stuff' to embellish PL pages - particularly photos. I want to embellish my photos but I never seem to know how, or what I need. So they take me twice as long as I get in that 'I don't know what I am doing slump' and start procrastinating.
I wish more companies sold smaller chipboard pieces that would be perfect size for PL.

An ATG glue gun. I think I need one, but as some one mentioned on another thread, it's huge! I'm afraid it would be too heavy and unwieldy for me to handle. And the price. Yikes! So I can't justify buying something I may not be able to use.
But I think I need one because in my bargain shopping days I bought a bunch of cheap tape runners/glue dots that were of poor quality and my pictures, embellishments etc have a tendency to fall off. Ugh.
Someone please "enable" me to justify buying one. LOL

I used to not have many colors of inks and boy was it frustrating to stamp. So I bought a pack of small cube inks from Joanns to fill in the colors I needed and it's been a life saver!

Time. Time to play with all the wonderful things I have. That will be remedied today though. I am resigning from my job this morning and taking a couple of months off. One of the things I will get to do is enjoy my craft room.

Despite my massive hoar...... I mean, stash of stamps, I don't have the right sentiments for the interior of cards in the right font.
I've been working on birthday cards for kids so the fonts need to be more playful, less formal. And if I put happy birthday on the front, what can I put on the inside? I have a few Taylored Expression stamps that work. As an example, for a princess card, they have stamps for "happy birthday princess" and "you deserve the royal treatment". Perfect! But sets like these are few and far between in my collection.

I have the top of my raskog next to my desk and it holds my PL cards and a spot for my ATG. I even got my best friend one for Christmas. The other thing I love about it (besides the obvious adhesive purposes) is you can customize it. I spray painted mine purple and white and we chose yellow for the gift.

Blue paper. Like blue blue. Imagine a royal blue, blue crayon, just blue. I needed a sheet to help DD and a friend with a project, and they found a piece that would 'do', but still... I don't have one. I have about 50 other shades of blues, lol. If I had to guess, I have the same problem with green... Soon I'll be taking inventory on my colors to correct this problem!

I seem to not have things at the most inconvenient times. Like these for example:
On a picture printing roll! Runs out of ink. Or paper. Got my mojo flowing and I'm banging out layouts like crazy. Run out of ATG tape. Finally finishing my DD...not one stamp of Santa to be found in my huge stash. Working on a layout that is screaming for black Thickers. I have every color except.
So typical. :/

I never seem to have card stock that is the right red for whatever I want it to go with. I guess I use up my true reds and have a lot of orange reds and pink reds left.

I have lots of off white, vanilla, whatever, but the other day I had to switch to a black background b/c I couldn't match any of it with my pp.

Time. Not enough time. I have plenty of everything else to play with. I find it hard to balance full-time work, being a mom to an 18 month old and everything else in between. I have started to stay up for an hour or so after he goes to bed but I am so tired that I know it's not the smartest thing to do. Sneaking some time in on Saturdays when he naps is my best bet lately.

All I can remember from that stage of my life is a fog of fatigue! (Of course, maybe if I had scrapbooked back then, I might have more to remember... )

I am used to small ones that fit in my hand and the ATG is huge and cumbersome. It sits in a drawer...not even in my office anymore, I don't think (I moved a set of drawers out and only kept things I use frequently in my office and consolidated it into the other set of drawers).

I just organized all of my stamps and dies. I realized I have nothing Fall or Harvest themed. Not one single thing. It is one of my favorite holiday times too. So I am going to be buying some ASAP.

I am not techie and everything seemed pretty clear. I already had the Gypsy, so the transfer of knowledge was immediate. If you find a shape that has one layer, you really just have to click on it after you buy it and it puts it on the mat and all you have to do is press a button to start it and another button to pick the material. Have you tried looking at a few YouTube videos? They really help. I have taught a few people how to use theirs and it takes less than five minutes.

This one really hit home for me....Last week I was using my wide format printer and it ran out of ink so I switched to my DH's printer and son of a gun, after the first pass, I get the message that I need to change ink cartridges....thank heavens I did have one for both machines but it always makes me so mad to have to stop and put in a new cartridge. They are now on the list for next trip to Wally World.
