I think they are probably well aware of the bad feelings a lot of us have towards them with the way they did us in. I can't imagine they are too happy knowing that we're just as happy if not happier without them

I never thought about it, but maybe! The message boards were such a big part of their site, I cannot imagine that they wouldn't be a little curious as to what we all did & where we all went. I do not understand why they didn't give us a chance to regroup before they locked the MB, but if it was done intentionally, that's just rotten! It's almost like they didn't want us to reconnect elsewhere. They underestimated the determination and the power of the Peas!!!

I've honestly been overwhelmed by the thanks - they don't have to have my 'real' name attached to be sincere. And besides I didn't do it for the thanks/kudos, I did it because like so many others I felt bereft without our home. I am still posting under my old pea name as normal - it's not a state secret, it has actually been mentioned, I just don't want to have the two blur into one, so I can keep this account strictly for the business end of things.

'We' were emotionally invested in the forum - they were emotionally and financially invested in their business. When a business goes under it's (often) an emotional as well as financial loss to those who ran it.
I'm not sure I'm putting my point across well, but I would think that a couple who sold a business and then came back to it had more involvement than merely trying to make a quick buck. Especially since they didn't seem too good at it.
Maybe they shut of the boards because they were embarrassed, or they are trying to seal a business sale to a third party? Or they just don't care. Either way, they don't exactly come out looking good, which must affect them on some level.

The whole closing of 2peas could have been done in such a different manner. With the way it went down, people have fond memories of the boards and what all was shared there, but negative feelings toward management and how they chose to pull the plug.

I doubt it. Though I think they handled things poorly, shutting down a family business under bad circumstances after 15 years would be very hard on anyone. I can't imagine they would want to subject themselves to the negative comments when they are certainly already feeling like shit.
