My psych and I are at my wits end about how to treat my depression. I've tried tons of anti depressants and they either made me suicidal or the side effects were too great. I have also tried ampitriptiline (I probably slaughtered that spelling). MAOIs are out because they interact with other meds and because of the pain meds and other meds I'm on that won't work.
This new psych thought I am have ADHD too but this med is also used for treating depression which is great. So I thought I would check to see if any peas have tried it?

My college-age DD takes it for ADHD, and she's had no issues with it at all. She's very careful to take it at the same time every day so the levels stay consistent.

Thanks for sharing. I know she told me not to take it at night and that I may be nauseated. Was there any weight gain?

It was the second of three meds my son tried in high school for ADHD. The first two, including Straterra, had physical and mood side effects that weren't worth the benefits. The third one had side effects that he could live with.
All those meds have side effects and everybody reacts differently - as is already evident in this thread!

It made my DD sleepy to the point she couldn't take it any more, plus it did nothing to help her ADHD.

We've had many students at school on it. What works well for one person, with no significant side effects, can be a nightmare for someone else. I think it's hard to predict how it will work for you based on someone else's experiences.

Has your doctor offered to DNA test you to help identify which med would work best for you? It is a somewhat new idea but they really have good luck matching meds with your DNA.

I have heard good things about that. Most of them make me suicidal.
