Has anyone used these? I keep seeing projects made with them on the BB blog. Was wondering how they work? Looked for them quickly at the LSS yesterday, but forgot ask when the clerk was free.

I'm not sure I understand what they are? Is the stencil sticky to hold it in place, or something else?

I am kind of interested in these. I am not sure I am ready to buy, but I am not sure I am not either. They look very cool!

I was recently at a crop at a scrapbook store and tried the stencil with snowflakes. Well I wish I had tried it...it ripped from the moment I tried taking the stencil off the backing. It was such a disaster the owner refunded my money.
She also has another smaller stencil by BB and it worked fine. I think the size of the snowflake stencil had something to do with it.

I have never wrecked a regular stencil, but I HAVE wrecked pages and backgrounds because the media I am using seeps under the stencil and makes a mess. Hmmm...

I was wondering about these too. Good to know how everyone's experience has been.

The stencil Winter Delight is the one I tried that ripped. The other one I tried was "Oh my stars" and it was fine.
I think the fact that the larger stencil is the one I used and it was just not coming up.

Interesting idea but have never tried them. I did read a Silhouette School blog post today though about making stencils with the Cameo from laminating pouches and then apply removable/temporary adhesive so they stick in place. I might be nervous about that as well.

I did read a Silhouette School blog post today though about making stencils with the Cameo from laminating pouches and then apply removable/temporary adhesive so they stick in place. I might be nervous about that as well. I have used washi tape to hold a stencil down. If you use it like a hinge it makes a nice crisp moulding paste or glitter paste image if you lift up the side opposite the "hinge" and the stencil comes straight up. The problem is that sometimes the middle may not be as tight to the background as it needs to be. I was wondering, wagleg , how do they clean? I usually use a baby wipe, then paper towel, but with some media I find I need to immerse the stencil in warm soapy water to clean it off. Does the sticky backing hold up to that?

I have the Cascade set and they work fine; not so sticky as to damage your project.
I clean them off by running under water and using my hands to wipe the gunk off. The sticky is still sticking; I have used each stencil a handful of times.

Doesn't stop me from trying it, though, 'cuz I hate to just throw that negative in the garbage. Cs works well as a stencil for dry media like inks or chalks, and will work not badly for a quick spritz of colour. But when working with wet media like moulding paste or glitter paste or Nuvo drops, etc, or if I get carried away with the spritzing (as has been known to happen) the cs tends to buckle and the medium gets underneath and distorts or ruins the effect. Using masking tape around the edges of the cs piece doesn't help, because the stuff gets in around the diecut shape. Have never cut plastic though, so that would probably work much like a "regular" stencil. How thick are those Silhouette plastic sheets? And do they cut well with wafer dies?
