I have a Canon Rebel T3i and no complaints from me. It does everything I need it to do.

My 2 favorite cameras are my Canon Rebel T4i and my Samsung Android Galaxy Digital Camera. I love them both

I have a Cannon 5D Mark II. I love it for the pictures it takes, but it's a heavy camera!

I have the Canon T1i. Love it! The best recommendation is to go to a camera store and hold any camera you are thinking of getting. Play around with it, hit buttons, check the menus, etc. See how it feels in your hands. That is how I decided on the canon vs nikon

I've had a Nikon d90 for several years and it's still serving me well. The image quality is great and it's not a hard camera to learn. I hang out at the Nikonites site and learn something weekly!

After using a full size dSLR for years I got tired of the weight and size. Sold everything and went mirrorless by purchasing a Olympus OMD EM1.
Love love love this camera and I will never go back to a fullsize. Does everything my pro dSLR did and more and quality is great.

I am a Nikon girl myself. Read lots of reviews and go and try out the cameras in person to see what "fits"

I went for a micro four thirds - Panasonic Lumix G2, and I love the smaller size and weight of the camera and lenses... I just bought a new point and shoot, Panasonic DMC-ZS40... Still learning, but loving it... I've had a couple Nikons and loved them, just ended up using the Panasonics more and became more comfortable with them...

Wow! Thanks everyone, you have given me so many great options. I am sure to find something that is a little more lightweight and doesn't break the bank. I had a Nikon d5000 and my little one broke it after 6 goods years of me using it. I have heard so many great things about the canon cameras that I want to try one. However I am looking for at good quality camera without the bulk. It makes it so hard to get spontaneous pictures throughout the day if you are using a big camera. Any suggestions there?
Thanks

Canon girl myself. It all depends on why you want to do with it! DSLr's are heavy to carry around if thats your plan. The newer mirror less cameras are smaller and still provide optional lenses. If you are upgrading a DSLR, then stick to the same brand, so you can keep your lenses. If your upgrading a smaller point and shoot then the skys the limit!!!

Funny thing - I just here after looking at Canons on another site.
I have a T2i and love it - however, ever since they came out with the T3i I've wanted one because of the flip out screen. My old Canon had the flip out and I missed it for a long time. Now I see they have a T5i so when I upgrade I'll look at getting one.

I have a Canon SL1 that I bought specifically for how light it is. I've taken a couple of photography classes on line from BPC and the thing that stood out for me the most was that the body doesn't matter as much as the lens. I have a 50mm in edition to my kit lens and I'm saving up for a 35mm . I LOVE the quality of my photos.

I have a Canon 60D and I upgraded from an Xsi. I love my camera, I don't mind the bulk most of the time, the few times I don't want to carry it I use our Lumix P&S. My husband has an amazing camera on his phone, I don't know what phone it is but you can zoom like crazy, it has a high MP count, and it is pretty quick shutter wise. He uses it quite a bit. I think the key to not hating carrying around the SLR is having a decent bag! That makes all the difference to me. When I first got my camera I had a crumpler bag that was really uncomfortable to carry, when I found a bag I loved it made it much easier to carry and now that I have a few different bags I don't find the camera cumbersome at all.
