Does that make sense? I've seen it here a couple of times where someone will write ' me us yada yada' but they drew a line through me. Is it a special font?
can anyone give me directions??
thank you kim

<strike> Testing </strike>
Or apparently, edit your post and then pick the box that looks like strikethrough - way easier.

Like this?
It's the word "strike" in square brackets (no quotation marks) and then "/strike" in square brackets to close.
or [ strike ] (with no spaces) to start and [ /strike ] to close

I think typing (del) at the beginning and (/del) at the end does it, but replace the '(' w/'<' and ')' w/'>' <del> Testing </del> Or apparently, edit your post and then pick the box that looks like strikethrough - way easier and my approach doesn't work until HTML5. I just pretended to quote a post with some words crossed out, and then chose BBCode at the bottom. Looks like you need to use [/strike] at the end and then at the beginning of the part you want crossed out.
Did it backwards in that paragraph so the instructions would show. Here is a test

Hit reply instead of quick reply and it has a button at the top for it with an S striked through. Way easier than having to worry about code.

I knew I should wait until someone who knew what they were talking about responded! LOL, now I see the S button loud & proud at the top of my reply pane, but I don't remember seeing this come up on my ipad. Thought all there was there was font size, then 4 buttons for colour, B, i and underline. Will have to check.

Also, this is on the computer, it may not work for ipad or smart phones, because those things like you to be "smart".

So what is the purpose of crossing out words?

So what is the purpose of crossing out words? Usually to be clever or funny. Obviously, I'm not as I can't think of an example at the moment. OH, but I can blame my cold or that I had a beer with my pizza.
