So I traced a shiny word/logo in the designer software - it traced great... but because of the shine in the original I have a few random dots inside the design... I tried to erase them but it takes a big circle out of the word when I use the eraser tool ... how I do I erase just teeny tiny dots?
Thanks!

You can delete them. I do this a lot when I edit some designs.
First ungroup and/or release compound path of your design. Sometimes it takes a couple "ungroups" to get it done. Zoom in on your design and select and delete those little things you don't want in your design. Since it is ungrouped - it is easy to move things you don't want moved - so watch for that. Just "undo" if you accidentally delete or move something you don't want moved.
To zoom - you can use the magnifying glass or hold down the ALT key and use the scroll wheel on your mouse.

I find ins that often after I "trace" a design, I need to go back and clean it up a little. I get rid of those dots, sharpen corners, clean up a curve... But trace is still one of my favorite features of a Silhouette.
