I'm sorry I can't offer any help. I'm familiar with some of their design team. It's odd that there isn't a list of what the kit includes somewhere. I would want to know exactly what's in it before shelling out $97.

For $97 I'll send you a box of really cool stuff I feel you could make a lot of cards and other projects with.

I have never heard of them so I googled. Their previous kits do not look like they're worth $97. Yikes!

I bought the 2015 "Holiday Magic Collection" Box. I was new to stamping and didn't have very many stamps, so I thought it was worth trying. Here's my "mini" review: I received 8 items: 5 were clear stamps set, 3 were thin metal die/die sets. CAS-ual Fridays: Snowy Saying Stamp Set $15 Bring on the Snowflakes Stamp Set $15 Funky Flakes Dies $30 Neat & Tangled: Bright Baubles Stamp Set $15 Little Bits Die (really, really tiny!) $5 Happy Holidays Die - no picture - but approx 2" x 3" thin metal die - approx value $7 The Ton: Holiday Flourishes Clear Stamp Set $16 Winnie & Walter Holiay Trimmings Clear Stamp Set $15 Total "Value" $118 The PRO: The quality: I would say is good. The variety: Good Quick ship, well packaged The CON: I've never heard of any of the companies before, or since. Few of these fit what I now consider my "style". The "discount" is pretty slim. $97 for what seems to be about $118 worth of product. Truthfully, I would never pay almost $100 for "sight unseen" products again. There were too many of these products I will never use, which is a bummer. I've become a big fan of Stampin'UP! products and we have a great rep right here on the board, scraphappyinjax. HTH

My thought on this is that it's similar to Studio Calico in theory. The owner is a pretty popular internet stamper and people want to be in the exclusive club. For me it's too much $$ for unknowns and I'm not a fan of exclusives. I do think the price is a bit high, but I did just buy the MFT September card kit which is also more then I usually spend on a 'kit' so that might not be as big a deal as I think But I love the MFT kit and it shows everything you are getting before you buy it.

thank you Restless Spirit that is exactly the type of feedback i was hoping for when i asked. i am always sucked in by great design team projects but after looking at the projects more closely, i think i can duplicate what i love about them with things i already have and, like you mentioned, are more my style. thanks again for taking the time to write out such a detailed answer to my question!

gmcwife1 i love that mft kit too and if shipping to canada wasn't so high i would have bought it as well. i can justify the $$ for products that i love and know i will use but somehow i have a hard time paying big dollars for shipping when sss can ship to canada for $6.99 or $7.99 or sometimes even less if there is a promo. thanks for your input!

That's a bummer the shipping is so high/different This is the first MFT kit I've gotten, I've wanted a few of them, but like the birthday one, I have a set of candle stamps and dies, so talked myself out of it. The animal one was adorable and I wanted it for the cuteness, but didn't have anything in mind that I would need it for so I waited and it sold out. Whew But snowflakes are my weakness! I have several stamp sets and dies, but they get me every time. So I went ahead and did it. I think you can find past SOA kits on You Tube. At least I think I've seen them and I used to be in a Facebook group that talked about them fairly often. But now that I think about it I've either been dropped or they aren't coming up on my feed

OK, how about $95 and I decorate the box real nice? You're a marketing genius, Don. Lol Dummy, dummy me thought there was indeed something "special" about having a so called "limited edition" box curated by Catherine Pooler. Supposedly, it did sell out fast, but the limited edition, specialness about the products was pure hype. The fact that 7 or the 8 products are still available ONE YEAR LATER! goes to show that they were in fact not special and not even popular. Lesson learned. An expensive one, at that. Now, I just come here and ask for opinion and ideas. I love this place. 😚

Those are actually pretty well known companies. Even so. I hate mystery boxes so there's zero chance I would ever buy one of these.
