Are there ANY scrapbook stores still open in MN? With archivers closed, and now I heard this wk that the store in Brainerd is closing!! Also does anyone know of any places that do sb retreats? My bff and I have been going to sb retreats every spring. Last one was put on by the Brainerd store, and previously to another little sb store that closed! |

There are 2 stores up in near the Cities to the west. Glitter Cottage in Belle Plain and Creekside Memories in Jordan. I know the Glitter Cottage talked about retreats in the future. Pine City Scrapbooking is up in Pine City north of the Cities. They are also a retreat center, so lots of retreats. Rochester has a scrapbook store that used to do retreats, haven't seen one in awhile. I do know 2 different groups that do retreats out at Good Earth in Spring Valley, MN. One is pretty basic and the other is full service. If you are interested in coming down to SE Minnesota let me know and I can get you contact info. My group of friends also usually does one weekend a year in Hinckley.

Pine City has a really great store. It's minutes off of I-35 near Hinkley. I was just there last month and they had tons of new lines. I think they have some sort of retreat, or retreat facilities.

I posted some info in another thread on some upcoming retreats that are hosted by some ladies I know. One is in Hutchinson at a retreat house there and two more are in Hinckley. There are also Saturday crops in Vadnais Heights that will be starting up again in September. All the info is in the linked thread here:

The Pine City Scrapbooking Co. is a very nice store with a 24 bed retreat center attached. They do hosted weekends but I believe you can also book the whole thing if you have enough people. I believe each of the rooms sleeps two (twin beds). It's very cute.

Finally Jan from Heart and Soul Arts & Crafts hosts crops at The Silver Bullet Studio in Apple Valley on some Friday nights or Saturdays (but not every weekend). She usually sends out an e-newsletter when she has something scheduled.

Hopefully this info will help you find some new cropportunities!  As for stores, don't forget about Crafts Direct in Waite Park (near St. Cloud). It's an independently owned craft store similar to a Hobby Lobby that has a lot of scrapping stuff plus just about every other craft too. |

I'm going to have to take a road trip to Pine City. I'm done with Hobby Lobby as they never have anything on the shelves it seems  I also go to Crafts Direct, which I love, but it's time to find a new store to shop at. |

It's not a scrapbook store, but I really like Crafts Direct in St Cloud. Think Michael's on steroids. They have lots of yummy scrapbook stuff.

I've been to the one in Moorhead quite a few times, and also hit up crafts direct every time we go thru there. I'll be there in about 3 wks, as we are doing a girls wkend in St cloud, and doing the Little Falls craft fair also. I see the Pine city one looks really interesting!!! Anyone know how they do it? do you just sign up for a room? like me and my friend? and then what if it doesn't fill up?

They rent by the bed, so groups of varying sizes can be accommodated. Sun-Thurs you can do just one night, but between September and May you can only do Fri-Sat together. During the summer months you can book single nights any day of the week. |

Scrappin n chattin in dayton. Day retreat and i know there is a group of mn peas that do monthlys.
Keepsakes cabin i do every year with 16 fab ladies.
Anchor paper sells lots of good stuff.
Whispering prairie retreat i do in oct. Been there a few times.
Raspberry Ridge was a cool place.

I haven't personally, but I have friends that have gone there several times and they love it. No one I know has ever complained about people in the sleeping rooms being disturbed from crop room noise. |

I went to Belle Plaine to Glitter Cottage on Saturday. Stephanie is working hard to get it all organized. It's not huge, but she did have some new things. I got my fix of seeing product in person . |
